My mother was a resident at Mitchell Hollingsworth Nursing Home in Florence, Alabama. They provided substandard care and they were negligent in her care. She suffered dehydration, weight loss, falls, broken bones, unreported bleeding, kidney & urinary tract infections. The staff let her wander outside 2 different times. There was also dignity issues and they were unwilling to accommodate family members for care plan meetings. This nursing home is short staffed and you have to stay on them about the cleanliness of the rooms. Nurses do not give accurate assessments of the patients. I saw one nursing assistant trying to feed six patients at one time. I had a legal nursing consultant go over my mother's records and she found so many mistakes in my mother's care. My brother and I visited our mother constantly but the nursing home staff was good at giving false information and covering their tracks. DO NOT PUT A FAMILY MEMBER IN THIS HORRIBLE PLACE! If you have a family member there, I would move them. Advocates for Elder Respect & Care

My Mother and Father were residents at MHNRC. The care they received was excellent. They were treated with respect and the staff was professional at all times. I felt that they were family. They sent me invitations to care plan meetings and often due to scheduling conflicts I was unable to attended, but was updated as to my parent's care when it changed. Mother was on Station 6 and Father was on Station 3. Great facility.
