The facility is poorly managed. The owner is rude to the residents and her employees specially if she doesn't like them. She withholds information from family members because money is more important. You never know what type of attitude she has from one day to the next. She storms in and drives thru the grass, what if a resident is walking around the corner and she doesn't see them because there is a sidewalk there. You can keep removing these reviews cause I'll keep posting them. You yell at your employees if they do something wrong and the next day your doing the same thing. You pay your friend under the table so she can collect disability, last I checked that's fraud. I am not a disgruntled ex employee I could careless about the owner my concern goes to the residents and there family members because she puts on a pretty good show when she is there. I just feel sorry for the residents because you could careless about their well being. One residents family cut the cord and took her mother out because of the way you treated her and she looks 10 times better since she's been gone. She has life in her face again and going to a lot better facility that makes this place look like crap.

Stop defending yourself paula, you run good workers off with your poor judgement on how your facility is run. Your rude to employees and rude to some of the residents specially the ones your dislike!!!! I am not a disgruntled ex employee just concerned for the well being of the residents health. You withhold information from families because you don't want to lose the money and tell us if we say anything then your gonna have to lay people off god forbid that happens cause then your gonna have to work and god knows you don't want to do that. I feel sorry for you and your ethics. I worked my butt off for that place and never knew from one day to the next what attitude youwere going to have. You yell at the workers for doing things wrong when the next day your doing the same thing that you just yelled at your employee for. I personally have pictures!!!! Everyone is fed up with how your run things and I feel sorry for your residents and their families.

    Understaffed. HIGHLY unprofessional practices.

    Response: So true!
''We are in need of a few employees. We pay a starting wage of $9 an hour and we will train them. The requirements are simple ... show up as scheduled and do the tasks for which you were hired and trained. It is difficult to find anyone who has a work ethic, wants to work for more than a few weeks and will show up on time as scheduled. Our schedule is a rotating schedule ... 6am to 6pm. The shifts worked one week are the off shifts the following week ... A caregiver works 14 shifts a month with every other Friday, Saturday and Sunday off (as long as all the shifts are covered) .... If anyone in the area knows of someone who needs a job and can make it to work, please have them contact us @ 678-8906 or they can come by the facility located just off highway 69 in Chelsea. References will be checked and any experience would be wonderful ......''

Great facility & family owned. My dad always received excellent care there before he passed away. Home cooked meals using old southern recipes... I've been a guest at my dad's table many times. My dad always referred to it as "home".

BEWARE! Your loved ones will be left overnight with only one staff member (not a nurse)on the premises. you will be told new staff are coming to work, but they never do or two or more leave for every new one.

Response: FYI: In a 16 bed facility- there is usually only one person on nightshift. It is actually rare for that person to be a licensed nurse.

Response: Chelsea hidden acres not only cared for my mom in a professional way..their staff was always available 24 hours a day...in an assisted living environment, there is very seldom a nurse on duty at all...whoever wrote that comment really does not have a good understanding about assisted livings......check your state regulations.....NO NURSES ARE NEEDED......

Response: whomever wrote that does not have a clue as to what assisted livings are all about....

07/27/2012  -  An OurParents User Writes:

Do not do business with these people! This is a fly by the seat of your pants operation that will make empty promises concerning the care of your loved ones. Poorly staffed and residents are often left with only one qualified staff member on the premises.

Response: My experience has been great there. This sounds like a disgruntled ex-employee. Go to www.adph.com and read there state survey for yourself.

Response: it is a wonderful, kind place to live. there is compassion for the residents and what I am really impressed with is how clean it is....they have 1 employee that has been there 4 years and another 7 years......residents that have been living there over 9 years.....there score card from the state of Alabama has been as high as 95 and never lower than 85 in the last 11 years....that is public record......and as far as nurses are concerned..in assisted living facilities nurses are not required...in a 16 bed facility, especially during the sleeping hours you very rarely find more than 1 aid working.....whoever wrote that comment needs to check up on their regulations.......hidden acres is one of the nicest assisted livings in the Shelby county area......and THAT IS PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE........

Response: Sounds like someone from the facility is defending themselves anonymously...

    Response: Ditto!!
