The building is not as fancy as some places but the care my mom received there was outstanding. She came in with a broken hip repair and in no time at all they had her up and walking. The therapy department really tries hard there. And are so kind and compassionate. And the nurses especially the evening shift really kept moms spirits up. They aren't as busy as thehr daysbift and they have more to visit with patients and family. Mom was back at home in no time.

Very poor care for my father. Left in his own feces and urine all night. He developed a rash from this.
The staff does not answer call bell much of the time.
Patients are left in room to basically rot.
Do not send anyone you love to this place.
I reported this facility to state board for a formal complaint.

They were the nicest people right from the start and my dad had been to more than one nursing home. He was not an easy man to care for but under their kind attentive care he seemed to blossom. No longer was he a bitter mean spirited man. They brought out the better man in him. With less medicine he was a new man in the remaining months he lived. I really felt like I had my dad back. And we became close again. And when he passed he went peacefully surrounded by family and his new friends at Montrose Bay.

I find this nursing home to be filthy. Smells of urine. Patients being ignored. Not enough staff to really take care of these patients. Staff more interested in talking with co workers than doing their job.
Patients left in rooms soaking wet. Meals brought to rooms and left without any feeding assistance. Oral hygiene is forgotten about so all of their teeth fall out. Yes I have someone in this nursing home and hope to get them transferred to another facility.

Response: I also have a family member living at Montrose Bay. I have many of the same complaints. Rooms don't get cleaned, help does not arrive when called for urgently, medications not given on schedule and sometimes not at all. There is not enough help to care for residents properly and some of the employees are just plain mean while other employees do the work of 2 and are dedicated, kind and professional. The food that I have seen is awful and not enough attention is given to feeding and hydration. I may agree with my family member who thinks that they cut expenses to the bone by not giving meds or hiring competent workers. I know there is no perfect place for a loved one to spend last years, but more compassion would go a long way toward making this a much better place to live.

My mother was their only 3 weeks and died, they doped her up so much her heart stopped, this is how they work to keep the elderly quiet. Only 3 weeks before she went in, she called me an was singing Happy Birthday to me. The place should be closed down, I hold them responsible for my mother's death.
