The personal interests of memory care residents at Dominion Village at Poquoson are always honored and respected. Along with the care and detailed attention they receive from specialists in Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, they are encouraged by dedicated staff to pursue the things they love, and always with a spirit of compassion, trust, and teamwork. Memory care is different from the care provided in assisted living, requiring a dedicated staff that is skilled in techniques unique to memory care. Residents live in private or semi-private residences with twenty-four-hour support. Three healthy meals a day plus snacks are provided, as well as housekeeping and laundry services. Structured activities designed specifically for memory impairment support mental stimulation. Grounds typically have secured areas, such as walking paths and gardens, for residents to enjoy. Behavioral therapies, continence care, medication management, and assistance with bathing and grooming are provided as well.

Comments: You just couldn't ask for a more caring staff! I do not live in Newport News and can't care for my dad myself so this is far and away the best option. (more...)
