I agree because I have been going through similar issues and no one seems to care. I have also complained and on the surface it looked like things had changed, but it went right back to the same old thing.

The staff are very rude nasty attitudes. What can you say about Drs? With his friendly attitude takes his doctorate to the extreme of negligence. Sedating his patients so he can have his way with them. I know because I was at plaza healthcare for two months. It was hell living at plaza always sedated. The nurses giving pain medication to keep me sedated, once the drugs were wearing off the Dr did not notice that I saw him taking me away from the bed and away from my family member's sight while she slept. The Dr raped me don't know how often because I was always drugged. I do not and will not recommend plaza healthcare not even to my worse enemy. I want to let other love ones know not to lieve your mother, sister or aunt alone without supervision please don't let the staff give them pain medication if they are not in need of it or any sedactive medication without asking if they are in need of it first in which that's what they suppose to do ask first. And keep an eye on that doctor. I am in search of more patients who were raped at plaza healthcare but don't want to speak up. Once I am done with the research I will be taking the matter to further and legal actions to close plaza healthcare. Sorry to say my life has not been easy since I left plaza constantly looking over my shoulder and have severe depression.

The only + for this facility is it's location between 2 casinos. The food is mediocre, the medical staff is not highly skilled ( I had to show them how to put on an ostomy bag ), the patient aides are over-worked and understaffed so patient care is terrible.

AGREE WITH OTHER REVIEWS THAT STAFF WERE SLOW TO RESPOND TO THE NEEDS OF PATIENTS/RESIDENTS. HUSB. WAS THERE FOR 2 WKS & HAD TO CALL/TALK WITH ADMIN. DIR OF NURSING, UNIT MANAGER ON 2-3 OCCASIONS AS PAIN MED TOOK 2 HRS. AS WAS IV MED & HUSB WAS TOLD ONLY IV NURSE (RN) FROM 2ND FLOOR COULD GIVE AS NO OTHER RN AVAILABLE, WAITED 1.5 HRS FOR OSTOMY CARE FROM LEAKING BAG, HAIR NOT WASHED BY STAFF AT 'BATH'TIME FOR 16DAYS OF HIS STAY THERE..WAS BED BATH DUE TO PIC LINE & FEET NOT CLEANSED PROPERLY. FACILITY NEEDS REMODELING IN RMS AS CABINETS DARK OLD WOOD & DREARY ATOMSPHERE. ROUTINE PAIN MEDS WERE NOT GIVEN AT ASSIGNED TIME NOR CK FOR BLOOD SUGAR & MED NURSE GAVE EXCUSE FOR IT. ID BAND WAS NOT PUT ON WRIST UPON ADMISSION & GOOD HE STILL HAD HOSP BAND ON OR WHO COULD HE HAVE BEEN? NAME BAND NOT CHECKED WHEN MEDS GIVEN AS IS PROPER. PERSONAL LAUNDRY WAS TO BE DONE BY FAMILY & ARTICLE OF CLOTHING SENT OUT & UNABLE TO LOCATE WHICH THEY DID NOT OFFER TO REPLACE. QUESTION IF INVENTORY OF CLOTHING WAS EVEN DONE. HAD TO GO TO THIS FACILITY AS OTHERS DUE TO INS. COVERAGE HOWEVER REPORTING TO INS CO. CARE & ALSO FILING CONCERN WITH STATE THAT OVERSEES THESE FACILITIES...ALL NEED TO DO THIS TO KEEP THEM ON "THEIR TOES". VERY AWARE OF HOW CARE SHOULD BE IN ALL ASPECTS AS ONCE WAS NURSE IN SUCH FACILITY FOR 20 PLUS YRS. HE WILL NOT GO BACK!!! WILL FIGHT MY INS CO IF THEY SAY HE HAS TOO!!!

The staff and social workers are consistently rude and lack urgency. It has been very challenging to attempt to communicate with our loved one who is a patient given the confusion on their end. Coming from out of state, I was shocked at the lack of professionalism of the staff and negative attitudes they conveyed. It's made a challenging medical situation even more difficult. (Don't people go into the "helping" professions to help?)

Response: AGREE VERY STONGLY WITH THE RUDENESS OF STAFF AS ONE NURSE WAS REALLY RUDE & HAD AN ATTITUDE. EXPRESSED CONCERN TO THE ADMIN. DIR OF NURSING & UNIT MANAGER WHICH AFTER TELLING THIS ONE NURSE STILL HAD ATTITUDE THEY SENT IN ANOTHER NURSE WITH HER AS 'WITNESS" FOR HER. COURSE SHE WAS ALL SMILES AND ACTED BETTER AS SHE HAD ANOTHER NURSE WITH HER. HER SMILE WAS MORE LIKE A "SMIRK" AS IF TO MOCK WHAT HAD BEEN TOLD OF HER ATTITUDE WITH A "I DON'T CARE" KIND OF RESPONSE. THIS IS SAME NURSE WHO WAS 1.5HRS LATE WITH ROUTINE PAIN MEDS & DOING THE CK OF BLOOD SUGAR WHO TOLD US THAT "HERE THEY ARE DONE AT 9" WHICH WAS A OUTRIGHT LIE!! THEY WERE SCHEDULED AT 6PM AND BELIEVE AT 6AM..PIC LINE CAME OUT & SCOTTSDALE OSBORN WHICH IS LISTED AS HOSP CLOSE BY COULD NOT REPLACE IT WHICH HAPPENED OVER A WEEK-END PLUS NURSE DID NOT LEAVE MESSG FOR THE SURGEON AS I REQUESTED FOR HER TO DO WITH HIS ANS. SERVICE.

Leticia is correct, my mom is currently there, when she first got there the staff was not meeting her needs, and were not responding in time when she called for a nurse. Unfortunately because the insurance would not cover the expenses if we moved her somewhere else we have to keep her there so what we did was complain and so far they are doing OK, but to make sure we check on my mom everyday making sure she gets the care she needs, we really should have to do this but she's there only temporary, so taking this extra step is no problem.

Nursing care facilities cater to several types of patients: some patients require short-term rehab while recovering from surgery; others require long-term nursing and medical supervision. In addition, some nursing homes offer specialized care programs for Alzheimer's or other illnesses, or short-term respite care for frail or disabled persons when a family member requires a rest from providing care in the home. Please note that you can help compare nursing homes by looking at the Medicare ratings of a given facility (Medicare has a 5-star rating system for comparing nursing homes). It is often a set of apartments in a variety of sizes from studios to large two bedrooms, where seniors live independently, but may receive additional services like transportation, pools, a convenience store, bank, barber/beauty shop, resident laundry, housekeeping, and security, are all services and amenities that may be provided there.
