03/23/2011 An Interested Visitor Writes: I had been looking for a place for my dad and was quite impressed by the admissions person Sue Russell. Not only did she assist me for the last 3 months of my endless questions and was quite patient with my frequent visits. I was saddened to see as of today when I went again to tell her I was interested and ready to move dad I was told she was no longer there and the new person was quite short with me. I quess I will be on the hunt for wherever Sue has gone. It makes a difference in placing your loved one when someone is as genuine as her.

11/13/2010 An Current/Past Resident Writes: Rude people. Assisted living director talks to you in an insulting, demeaning mannor, doesn't care about problems or complaints. Defends bad behavior of attendants. Can't get the help I pay for even if it's scheduled or by doctors order. A total absence good customer service. I would not recommend this facility.

Nursing care facilities cater to several types of patients: some patients require short-term rehab while recovering from surgery; others require long-term nursing and medical supervision. In addition, some nursing homes offer specialized care programs for Alzheimer's or other illnesses, or short-term respite care for frail or disabled persons when a family member requires a rest from providing care in the home. Please note that you can help compare nursing homes by looking at the Medicare ratings of a given facility (Medicare has a 5-star rating system for comparing nursing homes). There are various ways for paying for care in a nursing home. Make sure you know your loved one's Medicare and Medicaid eligibility, and understand how you can use tools like long term care insurance to pay for nursing home care.

Also, Scottsdale Village Square is an assisted living facility. Assisted living facilities are an apartment-style habitat designed to focus on providing assistance with daily living activities. They provide a higher level of service for the elderly which can include preparing meals, housekeeping, medication assistance, laundry, and also do regular check-in's on the residents. Basically, they are designed to bridge the gap between independent living and nursing home facilities. When thinking about how to pay for care, assisted living facilities are generally less expensive than nursing homes, if assisted living is a viable option for your loved one.

Also, Scottsdale Village Square is a Senior Community. Senior communities are for seniors who can take care of themselves. It is often a set of apartments in a variety of sizes from studios to large two bedrooms, where seniors live independently, but may receive additional services like transportation, pools, a convenience store, bank, barber/beauty shop, resident laundry, housekeeping, and security, are all services and amenities that may be provided there.

Also, Scottsdale Village Square is a Micro community, which means it is a smaller senior community. Some people prefer it for its smaller less institutional setting.

Also, Scottsdale Village Square facility provides Alzheimer's care. This means it has special safeguards for wandering seniors, and caregivers are trained in handling dementia behaviors.

Also, Scottsdale Village Square care provider provides hospice care. Hospice care is an infusion of home care and facility care provided to benefit terminally ill patients and support their families through their tough times.

Also, Scottsdale Village Square is a skilled nursing facility (SNF). It is primarily engaged in providing skilled nursing care and related services for residents who require medical or nursing care; or rehabilitation services for the rehabilitation of injured, disabled, or sick persons.

Skilled nursing facilities cater to patients who either need short-term rehab while recovering from surgery; or require long-term nursing and medical supervision. Skilled Nursing facilities are very often associated with area hospitals.
