This is a terrible place to take a loved one. If I could rate it 0 out of 5 stars, I would! My grandmother stayed there for several weeks after recovering from a minor stroke. The entire facility constantly reeked of urine. They repeatedly lost her, which is pretty amazing since she is wheel chair bound. Even though she was recovering from a stroke, she was still of able mind and positive spirits, but they continually gave her roommates that were on their deathbeds. She was there to witness two of those poor souls pass in the few short weeks that we were there. It really took a toll on her and she went into a slight depression. Then to top it off, she fell and fractured her leg and no one bothered to notify us or give her medical treatment. When we confronted them, they denied the severity of her injury. When we moved her to another facility, we were told that the damage was fairly extensive and that it should have received treatment immediately. Luckily, they were still able to help her and she is doing so much better now. The atmosphere was so negative at La Canada Care Center, I just do not understand how it could possibly be a place to go to recover or even live out the last days of my life. It only felt like death and sadness and I would never recommend this place to anyone.

Response: i agree my mom stays there and tues morn a nurse found her unresponsive at 7am and the last time anyone saw her alert and responsive is abt 7:43pm the nite nurse gave her meds at 7p and my sister talked to her 43 min later my mom told my sister she will call her back at 8pm and my sister never heard back from her
so my strong gut feeling the nurses and cnas dnt do their every 2 hours checks on patients in my. opinion they put them in a medication induced sleep cuz from 7:43pm to 7am. when a nurse found my mom unresponsive that my theory after doing aome research im still investigating
