Life Care Center of Yuma has a 5 star rating from the Center of Medicare and Medicaid, it is a wonderful place to rehab. My friend was there a couple months ago to rehab his repaired hip, he had nothing but good things to see about the place. The food was't bad either :-).

These reviews are crazy, my loved one was here for 5 weeks and she received wonderful care. Rehab was amazing and got her walking sooner than expected. The nursing staff was great. I would recommend life care to anyone.

THE WORST FACILITY! My father was there and all they did was keep him drugged up and didn't even do much physical therapy. Sent him home when he couldn't even go to the restroom properly or walk. We have done more for him in 4 days then they have in 2 weeks. The always lost his clothes and on his last day they actually had another patient wearing one of his shirts!!!! There is only one nurse for each section so if your family member needs TLC and extra attention dont even bother with this place! Awful! My dad had low sodium and they cut his salt! His liver is damaged from acetaminophen and they gave him pain killer with that in it! Incompetent and not thorough! My father would be a lot farther along if we had gone somewhere else. HORRIBLE!!!! ON his last day They lied to our insurance saying we recieved his wheelchair already and refused a walker, when neither of those things were true! my father was often left in bed peed, and pooped for long periods of time. They don't have the time for anyone it seems. And sometimes they actually have all nurses go into the cafeteria and no one is left there to tend to patients in their rooms! I don't recommend this for any of your loved ones. Seek elsewhere!

Response: I have a hard time believing this review, I've had many friend go to Life Care for rehab and they all said they had a great experience. Life care is the only facility in town rated 5 stars, which is the highest rating you can receive from CMS. Just visit Nursing Home Compare and see. The 5 star rating is definitely reflective in the kind of care you receive. My advice would be to take a tour of their facility, it doesn't smell, it's clean, and everyone is very friendly. It's not perfect, but it's definitely a great place.

bad bad service, staff don't like to work there, they don't come to patients when they need help, they let the patients who can help themselves be pooped, food spilled on them like that for hours, staff lacks the compassion to help patients, i think they go home and leave one staff member there, specially on weekends, sooooooooo sad!

My mother was sent there a year ago for therapy. They REFUSED to give her any therapy at all. They were going to let her lay in bed and vegatate. I had to FIGHT to get them to giver he therapy and even then they only got her to stand up. One day I was there on a Sunday and there was NO ONE ANY PLACE around, not at the nurses station, no place. I once asked a nurse what medicine she was giving Mother and she had no idea and got mad, GOT MAD, at me because I insisted on knowing what it was. They then blamed ME for upsetting their nurse. They had Mother on oxygen and one day I cam and she had none. I said she had to have oxygen but was told that she no longer needed it (even though therapy said she did) and again I got blamed for upsetting them. Communication was totally awfully. I finally got Mother out of there and as soon as I got her home she was walking again and doing fine. But, they did NOT explain the medicine that was given to her or her medical condition. In fact when I asked them about the medicine they had no idea what most of it was for. They said they had recommended home heatlh care for Mother but when I called the home health care people I was told that the care center had said Mother was not responsive and suitable only for nursing home care. THIS WAS NOT TRUE. This place kept passing the buck and claimed they had no idea who sent the referal or what it said. I said I wanted the records and they asked me for what reason? They NEVER tried to get mother to walk, never used a bedside comode with her, changed her in bed, etc. When she got home she was walking, used the bedside comode, and did NOT need to be change in bed..and WAS RESPONSIVE. This is a horrible place to put any one. The entire time Mother was there, and I was there EVERY DAY, I only a handful of people who knew what they were doing. Once I saw one of their nurses prepare the lady in the bed next to Mother for oxygen and then discover it was the lady in ANOTHER ROOM that needed it. They never did admit that they had told home rehab that Mother was not responsive and home rehab claimed they destroyed the records.

Response: I had a similar experience with this place it seems to me they drug up the patients with Hydro and move them to the residential side to collect medicare payments. The place was pretty clean and the therapy was ok if you pushed them.

Response: Thank you for you feedback it has sure made up my mind. I will sure be taking my loved ones somewhere else. Sorry you and your loved one had to go through this.
