01/16/2015 An Interested Visitor Writes: Dad spent 3 weeks at walnut grove after his heart bypass. He was really swollen and not doing well when he left the hospital. The nurses at Walnut Grove took good care of him and they all worked together. The therapy group was very good. Dad was able to go home with Mom and home health Nurses. Walnut Grove made sure he had everything he needed when he left. Would go back to Walnut Grove. it's agreat place

12/07/2014 An Interested Visitor Writes: Our Dad needed rehab after knee surgery but he took care of mom and we didn't know what to do. Walnut Grove put my mom and dad in a room together so he could have the therapy and help he needed while making sure they took care of her the way he had been. This gave Dad peace of mind and I think he recovered better since he wasn't worrying about not being with her. We would DEFINITELY recommend them to go back to Walnut Grove if they needed it.

12/05/2014 An Interested Visitor Writes: Chose Walnut Grove due to community recommendations and location. Dad's Medicare covered the first 20 days completely which really helped us. He had a great experience with therapy and went home with home health. We were thankful for the support we received from Walnut Grove.

09/08/2014 An Interested Visitor Writes: Stay away DON'T GO THERE had my Mother there and the lies started on the front end with BJ Garris and got no better from DON (can't remember her name) Poor care some good staff but they are over worked while others are out smoking. Should have listened to the words spoken in the community about this place, was glad when I found other wonderful placement for my Mother. She passed away recently & thought I should write about my experience. Tell everyone stay away go else where, just because your building is pretty doesn't mean anthing!!!Building not clean and constant noise is another down fall & too many wondering mean residents!!!

05/21/2014 An Interested Visitor Writes: There is nothing right with Walnut Grove. The staff is poorly trained in patient care and cleanliness. They do not check on the patients and they don't change the linens often enough. Also these nurses and staff members don't have any sympathy for a lost loved one. Don't waste your time considering this dump. Look elsewhere.

10/11/2013 An Interested Visitor Writes: It started with the Admissions process. The Admissions person said my dad would not have to pay for his Medicare stay and yet he had to pay about $130 a day after a few weeks. There were care issues when the call lights would be on for 30 minutes and no one would answer. When I address it with the Head nurse, she was short, abrupt, and seemed very angry, and of course did not resolve the problems. When I talked with other nurses or aides, they said she was like that with her staff and others. fortunately we took dad out after a month and provided better care at home. I thought these should be places of care and it was far from it.

04/30/2013 An Family Member of Current/Past Resident Writes: RESIDENT FOUND MULTIPLE TIMES IN OWN URINE AND FECES. Had to request soiled linens be changed. Staff did not notice stroke like symptoms or that he had fever. Multiple falls that we are aware of. Resident lost weight and dehydrated due to no fluids and appropriate food intake.
