Response: My step father was transferred to this facility on behave of my step brother. The facility had very nice décor but that was all that was desirable. The Medical Director/ Physician Assistant(s) created diagnosis' to keep my stepfather on bed rest so that the staff did not have to perform most active daily living tasks with or for him. He never had a DVT- blood clot that needed attention. Nor did he ever have injection sites where the blood thinner medication was supposedly administered. He did not get the proper care that he deserved at this facility. There is a slue of reasons that this facility needs to be shutdown and the doors locked. The facility administrator filled my family full of excuses as to why my step father was not being taken care of. Many of the specialized services i.e. speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy were never performed due to those contracted servicing staff members having personal difficulties, which was very unacceptable. I am quite sure that if a medical facility contracts certain services, that there is more than one person qualified to perform that particular medical service let alone 3 different medical services! The CNA's were understaffed at this facility and also did not have the proper training necessary to perform the needed care. The LPN that I had interaction with that was my stepfathers nurse, was very ill mannered and down right rude. She blamed our family for not following proper protocol when we signed him out of the facility instead of waiting on their staff to discharge him. We had had enough neglectful instances and as a family we decided to get him out of there. The RN(s) did not perform his/her job very well. There were too many patients per nurse. There were days that went by before my stepfather's bandages were being change and all bandages are to be changed once a day if not more often per doctors orders. I do not have any faith in this facility to perform their jobs in which they are all hired to do. I believe this facility is committing fraud and filling their pockets at the expense of their patients' medical care or lack there of. I have a background in the medical field and believe me when I say this, DO NOT PUT YOUR LOVED ONE IN THIS FACILITY. If you need more proof, do some research and will find the last state inspection was very poor!
