About Kaplan Development Group
Kaplan Development Group, LLC, wholly owns the subsidiary company Senior Management, LLC, and this combination operates 15 senior living centers in seven states, including New Jersey (five facilities), Georgia (three), Massachusetts (two), New Hampshire (two), New York (one), Virginia (one), and Delaware (one). The group is led by Glenn Kaplan, CEO and president.
Built upon a foundation of what it calls "family values" of compassion, integrity, and respect for its residents, their families, and all staff/personnel within the group, Kaplan Development provides high-end amenities along with individualized care and an array of daily activities to keep retirees flourishing within this community setting.
To further detail their overall philosophy, Kaplan and Senior Management provide this explanation: "Within each Senior Management community, residents enjoy superior amenities including beautifully appointed apartments and restaurant- style dining, along with a wide range of interesting, fun and educational activities, as well as a comprehensive program of customized care. An independent, active and fulfilling lifestyle is encouraged for each resident, and dedicated staff members are available to meet the individual needs of residents at any hour of the day or night."
As Kaplan and Senior Management grow, they continue to keep costs low for residents by not needing outside firms for site development while also utilizing its strong internal marketing department to attract new families. Also, with personal management over each individual facility, the group has its finger on the level of quality care provided, which allows residents to have peace of mind in their comfortable setting.
Independent Living At Kaplan
With studio, one-bedroom or two-bedroom apartment options featuring a full kitchen, access to a meal plan with restaurant-style dining, full maintenance, housekeeping, and much more, residents within the independent living community maintain their freedom while having the comforts of 24-hour staffing available. This provides assurance to the resident and his or her family.
Outside of the apartment setting, residents have an abundance of activity and entertainment choices including specially developed programs just for the individual Kaplan facility, scheduled transportation to get maintain independence off the facility campus, an exercise center, a library, and a billiards room.
Assisted Living At Kaplan
When residents need a bit more care than offered via the independent living option, they turn to Kaplan's assisted living and receive hands-on, customized attention, which includes assistance with medications, grooming, and other daily challenges.
At the same time, Kaplan's staff follows its "family values" philosophy by also spending quality time with assisted-living residents. They listen to individual rather than simply checking tasks off a chart. They talk. They have a conversation and provide that much needed quality, one-on-one time everyone wants.
Within assisted living, residents still have access to scheduled transportation services to handle off-site errands and also are provided 24-hour security and emergency response from high-level professionals.
Maintenance and housekeeping also are part of the amenities for assisted-living residents, which allow them to focus more on themselves, and spend time doing the things they love. This time is precious and shouldn't be spent worrying about keeping a clean apartment, doing laundry or pulling weeds.
Alzheimer's Care At Kaplan
The individuals behind Kaplan's Alzheimer's care take great pride in their Rose Lane program, which offers increased safety precautions, individualized care, and a focus on structure to enable those residents with cognitive issues to have a peaceful setting in which to live.
Focusing on dignity and independence, Rose Lane residents are treated to a home-like environment with all their needs met. Medications are monitored, meals are carefully prepared and hygiene is gracefully administered. Plus, there are opportunities to interact with their peers and comfortably test their minds.
Kaplan's staff organizes movie events, sing-a-longs, meet-and-greets and simple discussion groups to get residents socializing. They also have the option to continue their religion or spiritual choices with services, studies and singing.
To work their minds, Kaplan's staff discusses current events with Rose Lane residents, as well as running through flash cards, playing board games and asking trivia questions in a secure, non- threatening environment.
Individuals under Alzheimer's care at Kaplan also remain physically active by participating in group fitness walks, tossing horseshoes, working in armchair aerobics, and dancing.
