I can't think of any good things to say about this place. We have a loved one staying here and the care that she recieves is unacceptable to say the least. If she presses her button for help, no one comes sometimes for as much as half an hour. If someone does come, they usually scold her for using her care button. The nurses and staff are rude and act like it's an imposition for them to do their job. If you leave anything for a patient, it disappears the same day. They stole all of her grooming products and an expesensive blanket that we left for her. We were told that anything that you leave is shared among the patients. Unreal!
We are in the process of finding another facility that actually cares and helps it's patients. I would not recommend this place. Go elsewhere if you want good care for your loved one!!

Buena Vista Care Center is an average sized, for profit, nursing home with 150 beds based in Santa Barbara, CA. Response: I LOVED THIS PLACE! They were all so kind and happy and thoughtful! You would have to be deaf, dumb, and blind not to really appreciate this wonderful care facility. I could not write or walk or remember much of anything. I was severely depressed. I had been a fully functioning lawyer and ethics tutor for many years. Now I was down to 99 pounds and saw no hope for my future. I had suffered three strokes, a heart attack, and open heart surgery. I got Scott Entwistle, a happy go lucky marvelous therapist. He made me laugh for the first time in months. He said, "Way to Go" whenever I did better at walking and laughed at my lack of a derriere. He made me want to work harder in order to get his laughter. He made me want to get better and would wave at me when he walked by. Every facility should have a Scott Entwistle helping the sick and disabled laugh their way to health! He was phenomenal! Thank you, Buena Vista and Scott Entwistle, for giving me back my life!

surprised they have 2 Stars......a pig sty and try finding a "caring" employee.......perhaps four in the whole place.Also, a language barrier and WHO "trains" these CNA's? NO patient care....might make your bed and do deliver the meals.........A place for "Survivor" to consider as a show site.
If you're "out of it", might not matter? I had Pneumonia, not able to eat the diet provided. (no liquid or Soft) and NO rest..........much noise...people put on toilets and left there.
No cleaning supplies, either for Patients or housecleaning.....bed pans on overbed tables and cleaned in your bathrm. sink !!......shoot me first before incarcerating me in a place like this..........ea
