They provide a higher level of service for the elderly which can include preparing meals, housekeeping, medication assistance, laundry, and also do regular check-in's on the residents. Basically, they are designed to bridge the gap between independent living and nursing home facilities. When thinking about how to pay for care, assisted living facilities are generally less expensive than nursing homes, if assisted living is a viable option for your loved one.

Bethel Home is located in the prestigious Panorama district of Cathedral City, a quiet residential neighborhood, yet close enough to at least three pharmacies, two supermarkets, several restaurants and fast food places, the post office, the library and the Senior Center. It is between two major hospitals: Eisenhower and Desert Regional. It is very close to the 10 Freeway, off of Date Palm and 30th Avenue. We're close enough to Palm Springs and its major attractions of shopping promenade and theaters, and just a few miles from Rancho Mirage and Palm Desert where there is a beautiful mall and a number of classy restaurants. College of the Desert is just minutes away. Staff are trained in dementia care and if necessary, we can have a 24-hour up and awake staff. Bethel Home has a large grassy backyard where residents can sit and enjoy the sun and listen to the birds on pleasant days. In addition to American cuisine, we serve a variety of meals from international menus including Chinese, Mexican, Filipino and Italian. If desired by residents, we can have Bible studies on site, or they can attend a neighborhood Bible study and/or religious services nearby. If desired by the residents, the services of a beautician/barber can be brought in; the same with a massage therapist. Residents are encouraged to bring their own furniture if they like and decorate their rooms to make it feel like home. We make a big deal of birthdays! Families and friends of the birthday person are invited for a meal at the facility, where occasionally we might have a special program for the honoree if he/she desires. We have an annual caroling/Christmas party where we bring in outside singers from staff families to lead in a sing-along with the residents.
