As a healthcare professional I know the regulations regarding care of long term patients. Despite frequent visits, emails, and conversations with nurses, the Director of nursing, the Associate Director of nursing, and one Social Worker, I have yet to get several issues resolved. As nice as the facility is, I can't say that I would recommend it to anyone, and am very disappointed in their customer service, and lack of ability to follow basic state regulations.

My mother Barbie was a resident in the Aviara Health Care Center for 5 years, 3 months, and 20 days. She received individualized care. She was always comfortable, well cared for, and the nurses always were helpful to her and to me. The activities were planned well for her level of need. I would recommend this facility to family members of relatives with Altzheimer's Disease.

Please do research before bringing a love one here. The administrative staff is incoherent, two yrs ago they were fine by the state 100000 for patient negligence. One star is over rating this awful center.

11/24/2010  -  An OurParents User Writes:

Do not use Aviara at all. They allowed our family member to fall out of his
chair 3 times. There were only 2 capable nurses, mostly LVN's that smoked
in the parking lot all day.

08/28/2010  -  An OurParents User Writes:

This facility is understaffed, and employees do not have the skills to provide basic care to patients!

Dave the administrator is impolite, rude and insensitive I will never take a family member there again!
