Dysfunctional administration that unfortunately affects the nursing care of the residents. But they do have a family council that meets monthly. It is a self-led, self-determining group of families and friends that are independent from the management. The group works to improve the quality of care and the quality of life of the residents as well as provides families with a voice in decision making that affects them and their loved ones. This has been a valuable resource to improve the care of my loved one.

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The care is poor. The nurses can barely speak English, and are all Filipino. Trying to get anyone to return calls or talk to you is impossible. Go anywhere else.

When I was looking for a facility for a relative, I asked a nurse friend of mine her opinion of Arbor Hills. She told me that it is on her list of places she NEVER wants to be in. She used to work there, and says scabies and other infectious conditions are common. She said patients are just warehoused and sit in wheelchairs most of the day with no activities. We decided to keep our relative at home.

I am a past residnet of this faiclity and it saved my life. I had a life changing injury and wondered what would happen to my family. The staff was amazing at making my family feel at home and cared for. I will always be grateful to them for their kindness during this time.

I don't know how this place got so many stars. My mother was in there for rehab and I didn't find the care good at all. The patients had to wait too long after ringing for a nurse's aide. Aides weren't very friendly and men aides also gave the women showers which upset my mother and many of the other women in there. I wouldn't recommend the place to anyone.

There were some very special nurses and aides that were very nice and caring. An early morning (prior to 7:00 a.m.) aide was very rough and uncaring. Too bad because she was not as busy as the rushed day staff that was more thoughtful. Kichen director was very helpful and concerned. Social worker did not follow through on things.

This place is amazing! It is obvious that this place is far better than any other home I have ever seen in the area. The care is fantastic , they saved my dads life and mine

Response: Interesting how this review was written in the middle of the night and sounds so much like other reviews on July 7, April 20th and May 7th. Looks like the graveyard shift nurses are busy playing online and not attending to their patients. Anyone who thinks this place looks like a fine hotel is getting the wool pulled over their eyes...reality check people. These nurses are spending time online and not caring for our loved ones....SHAME ON YOU!!!!!

This facility is NOT a fine hotel. The rehab is not very good either. My aunt was supposed to have rehab every day, and most of the time, the nurses said she was "too tired" to go. We found out that she had been drugged. By then they said she was dying, so we took her home to die. But she started getting better, She is now living with a relative and doing well. She would have died if she had stayed at Arbor Hills. I would not recommend this place to anyone, not even someone I don't like.

I would not put my enemy in this place. They have taken single rooms and put two beds in them. So if you are visiting family, you don't have a lot of room to be comfortable. Plus they don't listen to family members. We kept telling them, that my Grandmother had a UTI or some type of infection, and they did not believe us. Plus they were suppose to have an ambulance pick her up for a doctors appointment, and they screw that up. Finally she ends up in ICU at Sharp Grossmont with pneumonia, that moved to her blood, and to top it off she gets a yeast infection in her blood. They are taking her off the ventilator, and the doctor dose not expect her to last long. I had to go back and pick up something, and you could still hear people hacking up a lung. If you love your parents or grandparents, do not put them in this place.

This place is like a fine hotel! Great Rehab

Response: You have got to be kidding....what 5 Star Hotel drugs their patients and lies to their families...thank goodness I got my relative out before it was to late. They are doing so much better under home care....stay away from this dreadful place.....

My mom recovered from her total knee replacement here for about 1 week. The physical therapy department is excellent. She received top notch rehab here. The nurses and CNA's were very nice and helpful. They seemed to be a little short staffed at times when there was an emergency with another patient but that is to be expected. They are remodeling the entire facility and it will be nice when it is done. We have two suggestions for Arbor Hills. The first is to make sure the remodel includes new TVs, cable with the volume next to the resident head, like in a hospital. At times the TV noise levels are high. Also, there needs to be a quiet zone from about 10pm -6pm. The employees yelled down the halls in the night causing the residents that do not take sleeping pills to wake up. Just a reminder to anyone working in a nursing home, this is the residents HOME. Their home and they deserve to have privacy and peace. Overall, this was a nice place and we would choose it again for short term care.

I loved this place. After a careful review of multiple facilities in the area I felt blessed to find a place that really cared. I will forever hold them in my heart for what they did to help me.

Response: Funny this was written at 2am, what nurse wasn't caring for their patients, they were writing reviews...did they get a bonus for this...hmmmm

I owe the happy state of my father to this facility. I have lived and participated witht his facility for years as a family member. They have exceeded my expectations.

Arbor Hills was a nightmare for us. Our father was diagnosed with a MRSA eye infection within two weeks of arriving there. Despite this deadly staph infection, he was kept in a wheelchair at the main nurses' station and the lobby with other patients and visitors. After his 7th fall in 12 days, he was sent to the ER. When he arrived, his eyes were caked with infection, his nails were caked with fecal matter (he had a Stage 2 bedsore), and he was wearing someone else's shirt. He was also found to have MRSA pneumonia and severe dehydration. He was finally isolated in the hospital and we had to wear gowns, gloves and masks to see him. He died a short time later. When I tried to complain to Arbor Hills about his poor care, the administrator told me it was my fault for putting him in the facility. Our research showed that once MRSA is established in a facility, it is very difficult to eradicate. Please do not put your loved one in Arbor Hills.

Response: This is a lie. The truth will come out.

Response: This individual is posting comments on all sites regarding this facility and it is very sad, because it is not true. I happened to show this to a fellow physician and they are familiar with this case and reported to me the to inaccuracy of the information. I hope who ever reads this can see through this individuals lies and guilt and see the facility for the benefit it has provided to the community.

Response: I hope you got the permission of the family to show this information to another physician. That is a violation of privacy and against the law. Anyone who is in the healthcare field should know the laws that protect patients rights....bare

Response: in addtion to response before.....barefacts should be known to any nursing facility.
