BIRCHES RESIDENTIAL CARE, THE is an assisted living facility. Assisted living facilities are an apartment-style habitat designed to focus on providing assistance with daily living activities. They provide a higher level of service for the elderly which can include preparing meals, housekeeping, medication assistance, laundry, and also do regular check-in's on the residents. Basically, they are designed to bridge the gap between independent living and nursing home facilities. When thinking about how to pay for care, assisted living facilities are generally less expensive than nursing homes, if assisted living is a viable option for your loved one.

Also, BIRCHES RESIDENTIAL CARE, THE is a Micro community, which means it is a smaller senior community. It is a Residential Care Facility. Some people prefer it for its smaller less institutional setting.

Also, BIRCHES RESIDENTIAL CARE, THE facility provides Alzheimer's care. This means it has special safeguards for wandering seniors, and caregivers are trained in handling dementia behaviors.

The Birches Residential Care has always been family-owned and -occupied, which assures an exceptional commitment to customer service and a high level of owner involvement with residents and families. We designed and remodeled our large family home specifically for its new purpose: The environment is warm, bright, and sunlit, with no obstacles to safety; it offers places to gather and spaces to spend quiet reflective time. The garden has a park-like quality. Every week we have luncheons out at a restaurant of our residents' choosing every week, a take-out night, a happy hour. We offer scheduled manicures and pedicures, and hair styling. We provide private transportation and full escort service and accompaniment to all medical/dental/therapeutic appointments. We are located close to shopping and many conveniences. We have Paramedical support within 3 minutes from home, and ready access to the world-famous Stanford Hospital & Clinics and the Palo Alto Medical Foundation, among others. We soon plan to offer the regular services of a personal trainer.
