Dear, "Please don't put Mom and Dad At Oak Knoll"...

I can not agree with you more. My loved one passed away around the beginning of the year of 2013. I had issues with many of the caregivers in Generations. While some were amazing, mainly the med techs in the evening shifts (Helena and Russell) many caregivers were immature and from what I witnessed gossiping to each other more then actual work (Jessica and Kaylee). I have no way of contacting. To Helena Rawlin and Russell Wright, I thank you for all you did while my father was residing at Oak Knoll Generations.

Please don't put Mom and Dad At Oak Knoll. The Managers Will Charge Them Up The Wazoo, Treat them like Imbeciles, Abuse Them Verbally, Talk behind their backs, make fun of the families, tearing down the senior's pride, and then when they cry all day from being heartbroken and sad- tell the families they have Dementia, then throw them to the wolves in their Alzheimers unit, called Generations and treat them like Hitler treated the Jews- Once You end up in there , you might as well dig a grave and fall in. They deny sending people out to the hospital when sick and laugh when people die of Urinary Tract infections saying they lived long enough and we have a waiting list to fill. It is a B-A-D Place and it is filthy, stinky and the Executive Director, Business Office Director and IF They have a nurse ( they keep quitting) - Are Quite Rude. The Food Is Horrible, Greasy and They feed them sandwiches & chips frequently. If You value Your Mom and Dad at all, you will not fall for the fakery going on there. They will invite you to visit and coerce you to stay. They lie Bold Faced to families, Treat Staff badly--
Not enough staff to help. high turn over rate of employees. .
Please, It would be better to let Mom and Dad stay in their place of residence with a private caregiver to assist them, rather than be subjected to the Tom Foolery going on over there...oh and did I tell you that if Mom and Dad run out of money-- they will evict them faster than you can say Jack Robinson
Don't be foolish, Your Mom and Dad did not work hard and save money to line the pockets of the Executive Director and pay for that Red Bentley that she drives- she is a witch from Hell!! They got my Mom in there and she was DEAD in less than a year. My Mom was an active senior who just needed a little assistance here and there- she was a strong as an ox raising 10 kids and thought with all the Amenities they said they had ( wink wink), she would live happy and safe-- Nope! She got a bladder infection and knew she should go to the Dr and they kept "forgetting" to send her out to the ER when she had a raging fever, well she went septic and died. They never called the family to let them know Mom was not feeling well-- swept it under the rug. I trusted them to give Mom help and Me - peace of mind. Believe me I am not the first and will not be the last to tell you these things and more!
Our Family is Heartbroken.

Response: I have never had to put a parent in a home. Read your story and am so sorry for you and your family.

Response: if you felt your mom was so neglected, perhaps you should have had more input w/her care. My mom was @ Oak knoll for 4 + yrs. she was much loved by the caregivers and I was there to oversee her activities as often as 4 days/wk. because I loved spending my time w/her. You missed the boat, Lady..am sorry for you..even more sorry for your mom.

Oak Knoll is a very pretty facility with many amenities. The problem arises when your loved one requires more personal care. They won't get it. They won't get the personal hygiene care they need. If your loved one can take care of all of their needs by themself they will do fine at Oak Knoll.
