In the interest of not hiding anything, I'd like to disclose that I work for Brookside (as the weekend receptionist). I just wanted to share my opinion of this amazing place that I came into. I haven't been working here for long, but in the relatively short amount of time that I have been here, I have encountered amazing things. The nurses are so kind and caring for the residents here. They do get very busy, but they are always trying their best to get everything done in a timely manner while providing quality care. They are always working, never just sitting around and they really care about each resident.
If a problem does occur, everyone in Brookside -whether it be a nurse, a receptionist, an administrator, or a housekeeper- quickly tries to remedy the situation and make any and all residents as comfortable and happy as possible. We realize that Brookside is not home, where everyone would love to be, but we do try to make it as easy a transition as possible.
Our goal and brand is "Hospital Quality Care, Hotel Quality Service" and I can honestly say that Brookside tries it's best to accomplish that. Even the small details. Families come up to the front all day to let me know how much they appreciate the small details! Really I could go on and on about how special Brookside is, but I won't write an essay here!
Brookside also has a very soft spot and the utmost respect for our veterans. There is a picture of our "Wall of Honor" which everyone loves and many of our veterans have relayed how well they feel taken care of at Brookside, even compared to other facilities around the area.
I can honestly say I love working for a company with so much integrity and genuine care for their patients!

I'd give Zeros if it would let me. Briefly there after hip surgery I had to find the Phy. Therapist myself (walk around each time) and ask for my PT which he promised but I never received any of the 3-4 days there. Shared bathroom with 3 other people (2 men, 2 women) and there were clothes and feces on the floor frequently. Looked nice outside but Never followed that through inside. I asked (begged) my Dr. to let me go home and have Home Health Care aide come in, which was 100 times better and cleaner! Wish I'd done it sooner! Try Not to go there if you can at all!

    Good Evening ( ),
There are now 3 known incidences with my mom at less than 90 days at your facility.
    1) May 2010; Bleeding of the urethra area caused by the catheter - my mom was conscious and lucid.
    2) May 30, 2010; at approximately 3 - 4 pm, skin is cut and bleeding at the groin area, caused by the diaper was purposely fastened to cut into my mom's skin.
    3) June 2, 2010, at approximately 10 am when speaking to my father over the phone I overhear ( ) telling my mom "You should thank me for helping you instead of screaming". My mom currently is experiencing a high degree of pain and skin sensitivity that has not decrease since her admission into this hospital.

Per our conversation today, you stated to me that ( ), ( ) should have called me yesterday. I have not received any calls from yesterday or today from ( ).

You also stated to me that that you forwarded information that I gave you to ( ), ( ). Thus far, no callback from ( ), ( ).

I am in fear for my mom's safety and well-being. What is your plan of action?

We actually thought Brookside was a good place for Our Dad, and it was as long as my Dad was pretty healthy and of his own mind and body , however since Dad's decline we have had several problems, leaving him with out checking on him, his access to the nurse cord on the floor where unable to be reached & especially with him being OVER medicated. There are a handful of GREAT nurses there who truely care for the patients at brookside but majority of them are lazy and or just not very nice. If you are able to be at the nursing home often, several times a week, this place is fine, if not I would look into another nursing home.
