Would have rated everything with five stars, EXCEPT
for the speech therapist - Elyse. Cheats on time and lies, with the assumption that she will be believed
rather than the patient.

My Grandfather suffered a stroke about 5 weeks ago. At 80 years old and with the severity of his stroke, we really didnt think he'd be able to recover use of his right side and regain his speech. After 4 days of laying in a hospital bed and never getting up once, we transfered him to Carmel Mountain Rehabilation Center. After two weeks, he was talking great, feeding himself and even taking steps with a walker. He was released after a month and thanks to the staff, speech therapist and physical therapist there, he is almost fully recovered. We can't thank them enough for accomplishing what seemed to be impossible!

I have been in several nursing homes in the last three years for hip and knee surgery and all I can say is this was, by far, the worst experience I have ever had. I don't know how they give nursing care a five star because it's not even close. There was a filipino girl there that said she was a PT, but later I found out that she was a rehab tech. The OT's never worked with me on dress or teaching to get onto the toilet, all they did was give me some exercises and sent me back to my room. The building in itself is beautiful, but looks can be deceiving. Never again will I stay at this facility.
