This place needs to be brought up to the 21st century. They have no computer system in place for patients. On the average I've seen call buttons go as long as 15 minutes to be answered, what if a patient is in distress? Information regarding the patients is not relayed from one shift to another. The food is the WORSE! The people in charge just tell you what they think you want to hear, 90% of the staff is only there to pick up a paycheck they could give a flying rats @#$% for the patients. RUN FAST AND FAR from this place if you love your family member.

Excellent Speech, Physical and Occupational Therapists;
The facilities allows family members to take part in the care (for those who don't mind doing it) for the family member at the facility. I highly recommend that you do take part in the care to ensure that your family member is taken care of.
"Some" of the staff members are excellent, but are overworked!
There is NOT enough CNA's during the evening and night shift. Example 1 for every 12-`15 residents. Basically, they are overworked. This is why it is imperative that family members take part in the care;
Two of my mothers room mates were taken to the hospital after being over medicated. One died. This was after she did not eat for 3 days and yet was still given medications! The other was alert and talkative, but after a few weeks, she deteriorated and appeared to be over medicated the last time I saw her. She was slurring her speech and incoherent! I was very stern about NOT allowing the LVN's to give my mom pain medicine without first contacting me.
There is NO computer system! Because of this, there is absolutely no communication between anyone in any department. Moreover, the staff do not communicate with one another regarding the patients from one shift to another. It's frustrating. In addition, staff records everything by hand. For CNA's this leaves them open for mistakes and cutting corners since they are understaffed and must also tend to their patients in a timely manner.
The food is horrendous! Canned, frozen and prepackaged. For a place that is suppose to cater to heath and rehab, they certainly contradict themselves with their "lack" of quality in the food. No fresh vegetables or fruits! I use to prepare my mothers dinner nightly and take it to her!
For the amount of money the government pays for a family member to stay at this facility, I find it overall outrageous. Not enough staff, archaic system i.e., hand recording (no computers!), there is no consistency between staff members and shifts and the food is horrendous! The only positive about this place is the therapy department.
Again, it is imperative that family members take part in the care of their family member and not to leave it up to them.

I had to stay here in 2008 for 17 days. The worst in my life. The food was terrible. They served those thin ham slices often for 2 meals in a day, and 5 times a week, as if we would not recall. The nurses regularly gave me the wrong meds. I was alert enough to catch it. There was essentially NO nursing care. If you could not do for yourself, you were out of luck. The only good thing they had was the PT dept. Therapists were very good. I would rather die than have to go back there.
