Neglection is the sum of everything in this place. Very Poor hygiene for those who can not care for themselves.

06/14/2013  -  An OurParents User Writes:

This facility is the bottom of the barrel as far as an elderly care facility. Neglect is rampant ... under-staffing ... falls ... untreated bedsores ... poor security (an armed gunman walked through the facility a while back having entered through an unlocked side door) ... do not consider putting your loved one in this place for a minute ... their doors should be closed for good ... one of 38 facilities owned by Longwood Management ... add that name to your list of places to stay away from! Had to put a rating down ... so you see one star ... but it deserves nothing!

05/19/2013  -  An OurParents User Writes:

This place is the bottom of the barrel. Understaffed ... uneducated ... and most important, uncaring people who live under a cloud of fear. Major deficiencies that go un-reported ... lawsuits galore ... rated toward the bottom of facilities in the state of California ... oh, and did they mention the armed gunman who roamed the halls a while back threatening to kill one of the male nurses who had an affair with his ex-girlfriend, another nurse there? Yes, no security either. That's because it would cost money and the only thing Sherman Oaks Health and rehab cares about their bottom line!
Anyone even thinking of putting someone you love in this pit, think long and hard. It is truly the worst of the worst. They "warehouse" the elderly ... they don't care about them at all! Think Elder Abuse and neglect .. not to mention lies!
There is NOTHING to be impressed with here. This place deserves a MINUS star rating

If your parent or relative can walk, eat, or toilet themselves it's ok. If they need to be assisted with any of those issues don't go there. They are understaffed and uneducated as to how to deal with people needing help. My mother went into the Sherman Oaks Health and Rehab after having pneumonia for rehab to get stronger. Instead she came out dehydrated with stage 3 and 4 wounds on her but. She went from being aware and awake during the day to almost comotosed. This rehjab in my opinion is bad news. .
