Our story is not a pretty one. Our Dad was at Sunrise at their memory neighborhood, he was not happy and showing it. He would get angry, sometimes not understand what was going on and sometimes just cry. The caregivers obviously cared but they had too many people to attend to, one even said they were so frustrated because they were so understaffed. A friend recommended we move Dad to FamilyCare Cottages in Thousand Oaks... It was the best decision we made. They have 1 caregiver for every 3 seniors and their night time caregiver is always awake, ready to help the folks when they need help. Dad fell 8 times in 1 month at Sunrise and has not fallen once since we moved him 2 years ago. The Caregivers seem really happy working there too, we don't see a high turnover of staff so they really get to know and understand what my Dad needs. Dad has settled in nicely too, he is more pleasant and enjoys the weekly lunch outings and has actually made a friend!! He may not remember tomorrow what he did today, but I see him smiling and enjoying all the outings and the activities they do at his home. This place has been a real blessing.

I don't often write reviews, but my Dad has been at this facility for the past 4 years, it was hard for him at first but he has come to love all the care and attention from the caregivers. We are forever grateful we found this place, my Dad is happy and we have our life back!!

This is the best facility I have ever been in. you can teach people how to cook, clean and care for the residents. You can't teach people how to love them. This organization loves the residents.

My Mother has lived in here for the last 5 years and recently passed away. I will be forever grateful to Debbie & Lisa (the owners) and all their caregivers, who were so loving, so compassionate to my Mom. You were like a gift from heaven when I came to you and I didn't know what to do. I was at my wits end! I can honestly say my Mom loved you all too. Thank God there are still caring people like this in the world. Thank you all for everything you've done for me and my family.
