The next #ElderCareChat will be held on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, from 2-3 pm ET (*note the time change!), with guest panelist Maribeth Bersani. Bersani is the chief operating officer of Argentum, the leading national association exclusively dedicated to supporting companies operating professionally managed, resident-centered senior living communities and the older adults and families they serve.
Via the Argentum Twitter account (@Argentum), Bersani will lead us in a discussion about ways families can use their five senses to learn about a community on a tour in order to make an informed senior living decision.
Maribeth Bersani has worked in the field of aging for 30 years. Prior to joining Argentum (formerly the Assisted Living Federation of America), she worked for Sunrise Senior Living for 10 years. During her tenure at Sunrise, she worked in Sunrise development, operations, and regulatory affairs. After opening and managing a new Sunrise community in Alexandria, VA, Bersani became a director of operations, overseeing seven Sunrise properties in the Southeast. She was promoted to fill the newly created position of national director of government affairs for Sunrise in 2000.
Bersani also served as executive deputy director of the New York State Office for the Aging, where she helped develop and implement statewide initiatives on behalf of New York State’s three million seniors. Bersani has a master’s degree in gerontology from the Leonard Davis School of Gerontology at the University of Southern California.
