Since December there is new ownership at The Palisades and everything is a disaster in the memory care unit. Except for one, all staff members have left. The new staff members are complaining that nobody is training them. The person that is supposed to be running the unit is in meetings EVERY morning til noon and rarely seen in the afternoon. Clothes and shoes disappear, clothes from others show up. Clothes are supposed to be washed on a regular basis, but it can take two weeks to see them again if you see them at all. You walk into a room when nobody expects you and it is a mess. Toilet paper is constantly missing, you lift a comforter and find out that there are no bed sheets under it. The bus tours for residents get cancelled due to the flu. The same people spend all day together in the activity room. Rarely are there any activities. Usually the residents sit on front of the TV, not always with sound, no movies are provided. No supervisor anywhere in sight. This place is a disaster.

Description of The Palisades at Broadmoor Park in Colorado Springs, CO

Encompassing a broad range of living arrangements and care options, assisted living, independent living, memory care, respite and senior living services are designed to provide you with all that you need to live as comfortably and enjoyably as possible in Colorado Springs, CO. Assisted living offers help on an as-needed basis, with the goal of providing the support that helps seniors stay as self-reliant as possible. There are many reasons for living in an assisted living community. Research suggests that seniors who live near their peers and have a variety of social activities feel a greater sense of well-being. Assisted living provides senior-friendly housing and a caring staff. Other services you'll find include around-the-clock supervision and security, access to professional nurses, emergency call systems, help with daily living, and nutritious meals prepared by chefs. These communities typically provide linen service, housekeeping, transportation, and a calendar of social events. For seniors who can care for themselves but who want to enjoy a low-maintenance life independent living is the ideal choice. Tailored for both individuals and couples, these senior communities are also known as retirement villages, 55+ communities, and senior apartments. Residents stay in private apartments or individual homes with a variety of community amenities, services, and programs tailored just for seniors. You’ll enjoy your own space, so you can bring your favorite belongings, such as furniture and personal items. With independent living, residents won't have to worry about maintenance, mowing, or other chores associated with home ownership. Because independent living communities are intended for older adults who need little or no assistance, most do not offer medical care or supervision. You’ll find many social programs and community amenities, such as gardening, bridge, bingo, fitness programs, book clubs, and planned outings. Memory care offers the highest level of support, consistent memory enrichment programs, and increased security for your loved one. Memory care is different from the care provided in assisted living, requiring a staff that is trained in memory care. Residents live in private or semi-private studio homes with twenty-four-hour supervision. Three nutritious meals a day plus snacks are provided, as well as housekeeping and laundry services. Structured activities designed specifically for memory impairment bring intellectual stimulation. Communities typically have secured areas, such as walking paths and gardens, for residents to access. Other important services include behavioral therapies, continence care, medication management, and assistance with bathing and grooming. Make a home at The Palisades at Broadmoor Park, where you'll experience a comfortable new beginning.
