12/03/2012 An Family Member of Current/Past Resident Writes: Two years ago we would have rated skyline a five star. However something has changed. It feels like more concern about money for the corporation and less about care for the elderly.

Response: a family member of past resident of Skyline Pines Care Center, friend of current residents.
My brother and I have encountered threats, hostility, and lies when we continued visiting our friends there after our mother died there. We believe this to be in violation of federal law that mandates visitor access to all residents, at the sole discretion of the residents. We are currently "banned" from visiting by the administration. They told us our motives were "suspect" and that we would be arrested if we tried to visit again. They have no grounds for these hostile actions, except that my brother filed a complain with the state about their attempt to restrict visits. This is, of course, only one instance, but I urge you to beware . . . . . . . . .our experience was beyond unpleasant, and the losers in the equation were the residents who were isolated from visitors without cause.
