Holly Heights Nursing Center carefully reviews each potential resident to assure they are a good fit for our home. This review takes into consideration the ability to meet the clinical and psycho-social needs of the potential resident, the capabilities & capacity of the staff and the fit of the potential resident with current demographics of the current resident. We feel it is our obligation to provide care to those residents we currently serve & carefully screen all potential residents.

As I sit in ICU with my father on Veterans Day, I want to say that Holly Heights cares more about money than about elderly veterans. We had 12 days to place my father in a nursing facility and we applied to Holly Heights. I told them of the time constraint and asked them to tell me if there was any reason I should be looking further. They said things looked great and there shouldn't be a problem. 8 days later they called to say they wouldn't take him. This was on Friday afternoon and he had to be moved somewhere by Tuesday morning. Their reason? His meds would cost them too much compared to the VA contract. I offered to pay the difference or to bring his meds in, but they wouldn't budge. We were left high and dry with only one business day left. My father was crippled in his military service and is treated like this! He was very depressed by this rejection. Now we are in ICU and he isn't expected to live. I hope that Holly Heights ' greed and lack of consideration catch up with them. Update: my father passed away during this hospitalization.

The care is exceptional! The staff work together to find a solution for mom's needs. She is treated with dignity and respect. She has formed a special bond with her care givers over the years and we are truly blessed to have found a great home!

Holly Heights is a HELL HOLE, the staff is rude and lazy, my Mother was miserable there and everytime I would pay a visit I became more depressed and sure that I needed to get her out of there, please do not place your loved one here if you care about them.

Response: I understand and I can verify it is a HELL HOLE! The staff neglected my Mother by letting her fall down, at the facility, resulting in permanent physical damage to her. The staff over-medicated her, to disorient her, making her miserable. Find a better user rated care home if you want your loved one to be safe.

Response: How did you get my email address? Thank you Holly Heights! The other side of the coin is that Holly Heights had great food and the charge dietian is fabulous at making the food as "typical" and enjoyable. The staff cared enough to listen and act upon any issue that came up. Kudos to Holly Heights!

Response: I completely agree the Don and ADon are rude and condescending with their interactions They also have big cockroaches.

I would like to take a moment out of my day to write a review, so people like me don't have to go through what I did. Holly Heights, was the place where I chose for my loved one. I heard great reviews on how well the staff was, and how clean of a facility it was. However I soon found to be nothing short of a complete lie. On many different occasions, I found many different staff members on smoke breaks while my loved one was sitting there is wet clothes. This happened over and over, and it was never fixed nor did I get an apology. On several visited that I made, I found ant piles, as well as mice droppings. I came to the conclusion that this is not a place where I would like my loved one to spend the last of his days. I hope that this can be helpful in making a decision.

Response: Having worked at Holly Heights a few years ago I can tell you that the mice problem has to do with the nearby canal. If this was your experience you should (or should have if you are already gone) talk with the nurse in your section and make sure the problem is rectified.
My experience working there was that they really cared, and wanted to do what was best for their residents.
PS If the nurse isn't there, than go to the head nurse, and than the admin.
