Our father lived at the Carolton this year for about 7 months. We chose this.nursing home for the proximity to my sisters house and we are greatful that she lived close. The care givers are emotionally removed. There is little communication between them and the nursing staff. Dad fell at least 3 times in 2 months before finally landing under bathroom sink needing stitches and dislocating his shoulder. He was supposed to be on a monitor but the therapy department didn't communica this to the nursing staff. We brought him back to live there because there aren't any nursing homes close enough to us where we could monitor his care and decided that we would all be sure to visit daily. You need to do this with a parent who is completely dependent. He often wasn't even dressed for the day when we arrived at lunchtime. They would tell us that he didn't feel like getting dressed that day. They dont feed the residents if they stop eating. At $400+ per day they want you to either higher an outside caregiver or come every meal to feed him yourself. He was often dirty when brought to dialysis. He had a colostomy bag and they never checked it before he went and the dialysis staff had to request that this be done and an extra change of clothes be sent. He wasn't greeted upon arrival back from dialysis. The bag with his lunch and the notebook from dialysis would sit unopened until next dialysis day. I would check and empty it myself. This nursing home gives minimal care necessary there are no bells or whistles. I would think twice and be sure you can be your parents advocate if you choose the carolton.

While the administration was helpful to us. We found some of the nurses to not be overly helpful and some of the aides to be rude and disrespectful.

I could not be happier. My father came here after a hip replacement surgery and was not only taken care of wonderfully but I know the staff there had a hand in his speedy recovery. Highly recommend!

I am disgusted by what these helpless patients have to deal with everyday. My family member was scared and did not want to be beat up anymore...they were very rough and uncaring. We ran into 3 people the whole time that treated my grandmother like their own family member. Not even the the administrators show care..if you have to have someone reside here, visit often and check eveything.

Response: Is your family member still living there? We are finding the Carlton to be exactly as you say, we need to find another place for our father.

Room rarely cleaned. Food was over cooked or over spiced. Call light went unanswered for over half hour on several occasions.
