This 2012 review sounds more like an advertisement for this community, then a real Delaware person. How would a regular person off the street, know the percentage of how empty or full the community can be. I read the us news report for this year, how does someone get five stars from Medicare if they have at least three sections of three stars for each, this sounds like Obama care. Making everything look better then what it truly is.

The location is perfect for our Mom for Rehab after her stay at Christiana Hospital. She has a long road ahead of her, she broke her hip. My sister wasn't very impressed with the lack of activities or things to do at night or on weekends, we also visited Ardia at pike creek, the nursing director inform us that she use to work at Millcroft and that the state department was recently in and they lost two of their stars with the Medicare rating. Under the new top management they have had and still due have a lot of turnover and in the end that would effect Mom's rehab. The nursing director said in her sweet country draw, the customer service is at the bottom of the stairs.

Response: I have to agree with that review, We visited millcroft three times within 15 days. Our Dad was looking at Rehab first then possible moving into millcroft' s assisted living. Dad came to the rehab center and the crew in rehab was excellent and Dad was back on his feet in no time. We didn't move him into their assisted living due to the really small rooms, plus if you wanted the bigger sizes studio apartment. After the levels of care and we would have to put the expense out for a nurse to give Dad his insulin shots, since they only have a nurse in the assisted living maybe 8 to 9 hours a day. Overall with medication management, separate nurse for Dad's shots and he passed with no not needed help. The cost was over Nine Thousand Dollars a month. Highway robbery, Dad moved into Windsor Place where they have nurses around the clock and the apartments here bigger then those small rooms or should we say walk-in-closets. Plus, we are saving a little over FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS A MONTH.

Millcroft is the ONLY place I would recommend to my family and friends with aging parents. The staff go the extra mile to make my mother happy and comfortable and the range of care and services they offer far exceeds any other facility of its kind in this area and even comparing other states. While the fees are a bit high, to me, it is worth every penny!

Millcroft is a nursing home. It provides medical nursing service for seniors with serious illnesses or disabilities twenty-four hours a day, delivered by registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified nurse aids.

Nursing care facilities cater to several types of patients: some patients require short-term rehab while recovering from surgery; others require long-term nursing and medical supervision. In addition, some nursing homes offer specialized care programs for Alzheimer's or other illnesses, or short-term respite care for frail or disabled persons when a family member requires a rest from providing care in the home. Please note that you can help compare nursing homes by looking at the Medicare ratings of a given facility (Medicare has a 5-star rating system for comparing nursing homes). There are various ways for paying for care in a nursing home. Make sure you know your loved one's Medicare and Medicaid eligibility, and understand how you can use tools like long term care insurance to pay for nursing home care.

Also, Millcroft is an assisted living facility. Assisted living facilities are an apartment-style habitat designed to focus on providing assistance with daily living activities. They provide a higher level of service for the elderly which can include preparing meals, housekeeping, medication assistance, laundry, and also do regular check-in's on the residents. Basically, they are designed to bridge the gap between independent living and nursing home facilities. When thinking about how to pay for care, assisted living facilities are generally less expensive than nursing homes, if assisted living is a viable option for your loved one.

Also, Millcroft is a Senior Community. Senior communities are for seniors who can take care of themselves. It is often a set of apartments in a variety of sizes from studios to large two bedrooms, where seniors live independently, but may receive additional services like transportation, pools, a convenience store, bank, barber/beauty shop, resident laundry, housekeeping, and security, are all services and amenities that may be provided there.

Also, Millcroft is a skilled nursing facility (SNF). It is primarily engaged in providing skilled nursing care and related services for residents who require medical or nursing care; or rehabilitation services for the rehabilitation of injured, disabled, or sick persons.

Skilled nursing facilities cater to patients who either need short-term rehab while recovering from surgery; or require long-term nursing and medical supervision. Skilled Nursing facilities are very often associated with area hospitals.
