Somerford doesn't care about there new patients/residents. My mother who was recently placed there and was visibly upset and agitated was not given any help, consolation or anything from the staff there and now she is in a lockdown facility and should not be if the staff did their jobs

My mother went from the assisted living to the Alzheimer's unit, and after 3 years, she was given 30 days notice of eviction. There was no reason given for her sudden eviction, other then her care was too much, care we paid extra for. The staff was shocked and advised me she needed nothing more then the other patients. This place is now being investigated by the state of Delaware for "granny dumping". DO NOT SEND YOUR LOVED ONE HERE! We are the third family I personally know who have had their loved one evicted!!!

Once the "honeymoon" is over the staff provides very minimal care. No fresh water was ever brought to my mother's room and they stopped bringing her to meals. If I had not been there every day,my mother would not have been fed. Once they get your money, all the wonderful promises go out the window---there's always somebody to take your place, so they don't care. Keep your loved ones at home, if you can do it. Plus, once you get passed the lobby and head back towards the residents' rooms, oh, the stench! The place smells like stinking diapers, vomit, and death. I'd give this place zero stars if the website would let me, but one is as low as it goes.
