My grandmother has been living at the Cottages for a little over two months now and we couldn't be happier. The staff is courteous and prompt with granting any request. She loves the food and has made new friends through fellow residents and staff alike. I would definitely recommend this facility to anyone and thank the Cottages for giving my Grammy the care she needs.

Response: Have you ever visited this place and stayed awhile? I doubt it as this place is understaffed, staff that won't work, they do not provide decent meals for residents with diabetes, what staff does work they aren't at their stations if a true emergency arises, and management/owner ship either is kept in the dark or don't care what is not right with this place. I suggest all relatives of residents who live here keep a close eye on their loved ones. Too much money for no more than loved ones are receiving. Their brochure of what they provide is a lie. FIND SOMETHING BETTER if you want your loved one to have the best care.

I have my sister here, after 3 other recommended places which I would never recommend to anyone. She is doing much better and is very happy. The food is good and staff is great. It is more of a home environment and people friendly place. I have no complaints after 4 months now. We are both treated with respect and made to feel welcome. And she is surely the first one to complain if all wasn't well, I give them a thumbs up!!

DO NOT MOVE YOUR FAMILY MEMBER HERE, I REPEAT DO NOT MOVE YOUR FAMILY MEMBER HERE!! The management is HORRIBLE. All they care about is money and the care is well below minimum standards. Constant Medication Errors, MONTHS without my mother receiving her PTINR for her Coumadin. Please do yourself a favor and skip past this DUMP of a place.

Response: Yes I had the same encounter a few months ago. Fortunately the young man is no longer there. We have since come back and have had a very pleasant experience with the new management team.

The Cottages of Bradenton is not the place to take your loved one. I had a less then 24 hour traumatic experience with the memory care unit that resulted in sending my father to the ER for a grand mull seizure. The staff neglected to give him his seizure medication despite his repeated instance of the urgent need, nor did they contact his emergency contact or fully review his medical history. They refuse to accept responsibility. I moved my father out immediately. No one should ever experience that kind of blatant neglect and trauma.

Response: Situations like this can always be avoided when family members/hospitals give full disclosure of all past and current medical history. Also I hope everyone is aware that in an ALF setting all medications have to be prescribed by a physician. As I'm sure we have experienced at one time or another newly prescribed medications take time to get processed by the pharmacy.

I had to place my dad in assisted living. He visited multiple facilities & chose The Cottages. Since I live in Maryland, it could have been a very difficult experience, but no. Michael Coleman worked with me and did SO many things above and beyond his requirements. He treated my dad as he would his own loved one! My dad LOVED it there! The staff enjoyed my fathers happy disposition, and my dad loved them. My father had no dementia, so I know he was treated in such a caring manner. My father had to spend a brief time in another facility & hated it. He wouldn't even speak to the staff there. If you want piece of mind and confidence that your loved one is being treated with kindness & care, I would place them nowhere else! My dad has passed, but I feel so fortunate that he had such a positive experience while still here.
