My dad was there for his last days, the food was great, they catered to fix him something he would eat if he didn't like what was on the menu. The staff was great! Wound care specialist was awesome!

The food at this place is terrible. They serve cold cuts and call it "roast beef" "turkey" or "ham." Almost every meal is a cheese dish of some sort. They serve salad that looks like they cut it from the lawn. The office management is never available. I guess that's one way to avoid hearing complaints! If you are sent out to the hospital, they won't take you back. They use the standard line that your loved one needs "a higher level of care." The weekend nursing staff they hire are lazy. During the week when management is on, they are ok. They have one patient that threatens you by saying she killed her husband and will kill you next. Why don't they get rid of her since they are so picky about who they take? The director of nurses is out of date. She should retire. She really has no clue as to what is going on in the real world.

My dad was sent to Brooksville Healthcare after his hip replacement. He is 86, and is very confused. Keeping him in bed was a real struggle.
Nearly every night we received that dreaded phone call that he was found kneeling on the floor...again. His alarm was always on, pads by his bed, bed all the way down to the floor. He never hurt himself until the one night he managed to get out of his wheelchair in the bathroom, broke his leg, and hit his head on the sink. After being sent to the hospital, we were told Brooksville Healthcare would not take him back. Saying he needed a "higher level of care."
We were upset at first, until he was sent, instead, to Evergreen Woods, where he is doing fine, never having gotten once in 2 weeks he's been there.
We loved Brooksville Healthcare, and the staff there. It's a beautiful place. Decor is really pretty, always clean, great care, and great food. Park-like setting. Even Callie, the resident dog was sweet. The only difference turned out to be a slight difference in how they handled my dad's confusion.
Brooksville had an alarm on dad at all times, and pads by the bed, so he wouldn't hurt himself if he got out of bed. While Evergreen Woods uses a foam mattress that he is unable to climb over to get out of bed in the first place, plus an alarm as well. The mattress keeps him in the bed so well, his bed alarm has never even gone off once in 2 weeks.
While in the wheelchair, Brooksville had an alarm attached to his shirt, if he leaned forward too much, it went off.
At Evergreen Woods, they have a seatbelt. If he unhooks the belt, the alarm goes off. He spends so much time trying to figure out how the belt works, he forgets all about trying to get up!
Both places are great, both do a great job, Brooksville Healthcare just did not work out as well for my dad as Evergreen Woods does.
I'll rate Brooksville above average. With just minus one point for not being able to keep my dad in bed/wheelchair as well as Evergreen Woods does.

Response: Wish I could go back and edited my review!
I meant to say - he have never climbed out of bed once in the 2 weeks he's been at Evergreen Woods, so far.
