I totally agree with the previous comment. Since the new management company has taken over in june 2014 this place has truly gone down hill. What was once good is now sour. I'm having to make phone calls there almost on a daily basis to complain about amount of foods being served...a half a sandwich with no condiments....really? This is neither nutricious or enough. Our doctor who goes there has even complained about that and his med orders. No one, no one has the right to change a doctors orders but the nurse and the director there think they can. More families need to stay involved when they have a loved one is in an alf, nursing home , etc. Document things that happen constantly and report it it to insurance companies and AHCA. This is the only way to keep our elderly safe. This is the third place in less than a year that I've had to deal with and it's been a nightmare. Well this wheel is squeaking and it's time to get the grease. I will go over all their heads and find the owners and the C.E.O's and file a complaint with them as well. Good luck.

Response: Did you ever find out who the owners were of Century Oaks ALF in Melbourne, FL. Our Dad is there and we are getting disgusted with the care he is receiving and he complains constantly about the horrible food. Please share Corporate information if you have it. Thank you!

My father was here. It was awful. The staff work hard at doing nothing. I've seen people sitting in their own urine and feces. There's unexplained bruising. My father said he was not getting his prescribed medication, and staff were eating resident's food. Do not place your loved ones here!

Description of Century Oaks in Melbourne, FL

    Number of Beds : 25

Elevate your standard of living and experience excellent assisted living, independent living, memory care and respite services at Century Oaks. The assisted living program at Century Oaks offers the same exciting life enrichment activities and freedom as that of the independent living residents, but seniors in assisted living receive an added layer of care and security. When they need a reliable hand with services like bathing, dressing, and taking medicine properly, it is there for them. Assisted living communities have many benefits. Studies reveal that living near peers and participating in social activities leads to more satisfaction with life. Assisted living offers senior-friendly apartments and a busy social calendar. Communities have additional services that include 24-hour supervision and security, emergency response systems, access to licensed nursing care, chef-prepared meals, and assistance with grooming, dressing, and bathing. Laundry, housekeeping, social programs, and local transportation are typically provided as well. When you are able to live without assistance, but want the benefits and comfort of living in a senior-friendly community, choose independent living. Intended for both individuals and couples, these senior communities are also known as senior apartments, retirement villages, and communities for 55 and older. Residents stay in private apartments or individual homes with a plethora of community amenities, services, and programs tailored specifically for seniors. You'll have your own private space, so you can bring your favorite furniture, photos, and cookware. You’ll be able to spend time pursuing activities that you enjoy since tasks commonly associated with homeownership will be taken care of. Because independent living communities are intended for older adults who need little or no assistance, most do not offer medical care or supervision. Community services and amenities usually include fitness clubs, dining facilities, swimming pools, golf courses, hiking trails, social events, and more. This memory care residence gives a more direct level of care, regular memory enhancement programs, and social opportunities, all in a secure, warm setting. Memory care is different from the care provided in assisted living, requiring a team that is professionally trained in memory care. Residents live in private or semi-private residences with twenty-four-hour support. Three healthy meals a day plus snacks are provided, as well as housekeeping and laundry services. Structured activities designed specifically for memory impairment provide cognitive stimulation. Facilities typically have secured areas, such as walking paths and gardens, for residents to enjoy. Behavioral therapies, continence care, medication management, and assistance with bathing and grooming are provided as well. Century Oaks helps seniors find the worry-free lifestyle they want. In this community, residents have comprehensive assisted living, independent living, memory care and respite services, as well as a friendly, supportive community. Within assisted living communities, you'll find help when you need it, with the goal of supplying the aid required to stay as self-sufficient as possible. When seniors are able to live without assistance, but want the benefits and comfort of living in a senior-friendly community, choose independent living. Memory care necessitates a more direct level of care, brain games designed for memory enhancement, as well as secure, comfortable living arrangements. At Century Oaks, seniors find the ideal services and amenities they need to live comfortably.
