I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy to stay here for short or long term. The entire staffing cover for each other when an injury occurs concerning patients. The cnas hide when call lights go off. There is never sufficient staff to care for the patients. I once witnessed the current director of nursing jerking a patients wheelchair. And witnessed the current assistant director of nursing talk down to the cnas like they were a piece of @#$%. The majority of staff lacks self respect for them selves and the patients.

Response: This facility is not what it seems. I have witnessed the staff treating the patients roughly, then smile in thier face like the situation never occurred. I have seen the staff dig in the patients food trays then serve it to them. The charge nurse's won't help the struggling cnas whom do the direct care for the patients, even if they are short of staff. They would reply thats its not in thier scope and that they couldn't get interupted. I feel so badly for my friend that is currently in the long term care unit.

Response: This facility is roach infested, along with the grimey staff. My father called me stating that he wasnt fed. His roomate was soaked in urine, all the way thru his fitted sheet. His call light goes off for 21 minutes, before anyone came to assist him. The nurses are rude, including the director of nursing Nichola Ricketts & assistant director of nursing Karen Callahan. I have seen them laughing that of the patients visitors. I removed my father to Life Care of Ocala & he is so much more comfortable now. Give Life Care a call @ 352-873-7570

The nursing staff lacks basic assessment skills resulting in negligent care. The administration is ineffective at instituting any type of real process improvements. I could never in good conscience recommend this facility to anyone. I truly believe the care rendered, or lack thereof, hastened a family member's death.
