I have worked as a CNA for over 20. Years and I can honestly say Wedgewood is the best I have ever worked at if my parents ever need a place it would be Wedgewood.Because it is just like home clean comfortable and friendly staff is just like family. Aurora and Nilo are the best employers I have ever had. I worked for them before moved out of state came back and now back again now for over a year. Wedgewood I would have to give 5 stars.

've been in the assisted living/healthcare business for 33 years plus. I've worked with many Assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. I was an AHCA Surveyor and this facility is, by far, one of the best facilities in the surrounding counties. It is clean, the residents are well cared for and the staff is compassionate and loving. Nilo and Aurora are wonderful people and they genuinely care about their residents. They treat them like family. I have read one of the reviews left by someone and I really feel that retaliation is not the answer. Communication is key and words cut deeper than knives and can ruin a great reputation simply by one not asking questions or communicating effectively with the owners or staff. There are minor disagreements at all facilities, but the key is effective communication by everyone. Please have facts before speaking. A person's lively hood can be ruined by one's vendetta and anger. A tongue is sharp. Often wrong words can not be taken back, but the effects of it are everlasting.

This company mentally abuses there clients ,feeds them expired food all of the time ,some of there employees are on drugs they dont drug test them knowing this so they allow it , some of there employees steal drugs from residents as well as mentally and physically abuse residents.. they have clients that are bed written which aren't suppose to be there they let there clients die instead of helping them all for the money and they are mentally abusive employers to there employees the state of Florida does investigations but they bribe them.....we need to stop them from killing our family members...

Response: This is one person's opinion and to say this place does these horrible things is wrong and untrue. I am a hospice nurse and yes Aurora (the owner) has a heart for the geriatric patients who are on hospice but not for the reasons stated. She is a care taker at heart and desires to help those who are in the most need of it. We have prayed for patients, showered and changed patients and fed them side by side. Each resident is accepted as part of her Wedgewood family and she takes it personal to see each one is well taken care of.

Response: My name is Aurora Morados. I am the Chief Operating Officer / Owner of Wedgewood of Winter Haven, Inc.

First off, I want to apologize for your sentiments and attitude towards our business. Although this review was posted on September 24, 2014, our reputation means everything to us. It took us three years to respond, because we were not aware this review was posted. However, if you had any issues regarding our business, this should have been brought to our attention immediately, not put on such a public forum. I would be willing to listen to what you have to say, but I will not tolerate any slander towards our good name. That is what I will not stand for.

As a facility, we always make sure we put the extra effort in to resolve any questions, problems, or concerns. I will be the first to admit that we are not perfect. That being said, our priority is our resident's safety, which has been paramount to the growth of our business and any future success.

You have made some serious accusations towards our business, and that is something we will not take lightly. By making these accusations, you are doing a number of things. You are disregarding the hard work my husband and I have put into this business for 23 years. You are disregarding the work our employees do on a daily basis to keep the integrity of our business intact. Most importantly, you are disregarding the many thank you notes, letters, and cards we have received from past families, because of the level of care we provide at our facility. I would be more than happy to sit down with you, so you can see it for yourself.

I will end with this. If we were in it solely for the money, I believe our business would not be where it is at today. I could make the argument that our business would have been closed down years ago. However, what has made our business endured is our passion for what we do. We truly care for our residents, and we show it through the amount of effort we put into our business on a daily basis. I know that one response will not change how you feel about our business and about us. To make those serious accusations without any substantiated proof or evidence, that is something we as a company will not stand for. Just remember that the internet is a two way street. For every comment that is posted about our business, there are people working hard to preserve the integrity of that business. I am one of those people.

If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to contact me.

    Thank you.
