This facility needs to be demolished. When my father was there briefly there were numerous areas of black mold on the ceiling tiles. I witnessed the administrator instructing maintenance staff to spray paint over the black areas! In the "hair salon" there was so much mold behind the wallpaper that they actually took fake wood paneling and placed over the mold! The staff is variable in terms of care and it appears that they are significantly understaffed. The rehab department is fine with a couple of outstanding therapists, however I did not understand the point of putting my father in a group of 10-15 other patients and making him do silly games. One evening after 930pm the occupational therapist actually came in to do therapy with my dad, how is that appropriate? I would have complained to the rehab manager, but I found out SHE was the one that came in his room so late. The bottom line is that I got my dad out of there after a couple of days. Consider yourself warned!

Response: I used to work there and staffing was a big problem. We usually had 3 LPNs for 7-3, 2 for 3-11 and only one for 11-7. We were full then-150 residents, so do the math. 9.6 minutes per resident on days, 6.4 on evenings and 3.2 on nights so a total of 19.2 minutes of 'care' by nurses a day. On day shift, that would include 2 medication passes, 2 meals, treatments, communication with doctors, pharmacy, dealing with lost clothes (if laundry lost an item, nurses were blamed) seeing that residents got the right meal and were fed (if the food was not good and the resident didn't eat, nurses got blamed)etc

I don't want to even give this place one star, but it won't take my review unless I give it at least one star. My mother was there for rehab and the care was horrible. They drugged her because she was calling out ( she has dementia, of which anxiety is common problem). She was so drugged she couldn't eat. They just left the food in front of her and left the room. When I finally got her out of there, she was so weak, she fell and went to the hospital. She was diagnosed as being in starvation mode. I could write a book about how horrible this place is. I know it is one of the few that always seem to have availability, and I know why. Please, don't put your loved one here.

Response: Thank you for this review. I am not living in the Atlanta area, but my parents are there. My father took a fall the other day and fractured many bones in his foot. The hospital wants to get rid of him and send him to rehab and this is the only place that has room! I am not sure what to do, but after reading your review, I don't want him there. My mother was once in another rehab place in the area and they drugged her too. She also thought that all of the patients were walking around in a stupor from too much medication. I am just now in the process of trying to figure out what to do with my dad. I really don't want him going to a place like this.

Response: I agree with the previous writer about giving less than 1 star. It is so sad to see such a facility in such disrepair for our seniors. I had a site visit to inspect for a possible consideration for my mother for long term care and was so disappointed from the greeting at receptionist desk to the dilapidated and unsanitary conditions. The young lady that escorted me through the visit was very friendly. However, some of the other staff members came across as unprofessional. I would never consider this place for anyone until major changes are made starting at the top.

This is the worst nursing home in the state of GA. They neglected my grandmother to the point of death. Ignored her when she needed something, totally neglected her. I would not put my worst enemy in this place.
