I came to brookside to look at a room for my mother, so i lingered around watching how things work. First thing i noticed is there is activities scheduled but none being done. Activities director was walking around playing on her phone. Really? She looks to be over 50 but plays on her phone like a teenager. If that wasnt enough, the nursing staff was just as bad. Playing on their phones at the nurses station. I was just a nobody walking around their facility and nobody asked who i was there to see or if i needed anything. I talked to a couple residents putting a puzzle together, as there was no activities being done, and asked them what they thought of the facility. And what i got was kinda what i observed. The nurse care is slow and inefficient and if the activities ever get done, they said its only on mondays or holidays. I was appalled by this as activities is the most important thing to the elderly. I hope the good folks at brookside get a good administrator soon,as he was on vacation when i stopped by.

Very rude administrator and very incompetent. Will never put my family member in that hell whole again!

I was there to visit my mom and the first thing the administrator did was hit on me. How professional is that? I know some of the bord members personally so I will be reporting this. He also treats his staff like dust you push under the rug.

The administrator is a racist! A complete jerk! I used to go in to visit friends of the family and now I hate going in there. He is very incompetent and has no idea about anything regarding brookside. I myself have asked him questions about the nursing, activities and housekeeping and get told either lies or a plain I don't know. I've also say that to potential new residents and families. He is a very rude man and I'm very disappointed in the way brookside is showing. All of the staff is very friendly except for him. I've actually had people talk about how they went in for a viewing and in the middle of a tour he will get a personal call on his cell phone and take the call, ignoring the person or person's he is giving the tour to. Also I don't find it appropriate to say the n-word referring to people bringing in applications. I would not recommend this place to anyone for any reason simply because of this man.

If you walk into to Brookside about 6 am the first thing to greet youw will be the strong smell of urine. The nursing staff puts on great performances for potential clients, however when residents are ill it takes a several days or weeks of complaining before something is done, if questioned they say "he/she always says something is wrong". They claim to offer a diabetic and healthy menu which is also false, instead they offer foods which they claim are suger free but in fact have sugar in them and they do have had a physician come in to address dietary needs however the administrator claimed it was just to expensive to follow his advise. They have noxious weeds growing around the building that contribute to bronchial illness yet the administrator was pleased that weeds was one of the few things they were written up for. When they get word the health inspector is on the way the kitchen scrambles to put things out properly or nothing that is outdated isn't out. They ignore request from the residents if the request isn't convenient for them. Residents have been taken to church and never picked up until the church calls saying they have been waiting for 30 minutes or more for a ride(yes it happened more than once. Activites include occasional bus rides to the middle of fields were the residents are not allowed to leave the bus, cards two or three times a week, bingo, and dominoes, and for a lucky few a trip to Lewiston and a movie in the "rec room", some live music from time to time by the band that has a member affilliated with brookside, well, you get the idea. The employees have guest while on shift after five, walking through the kitchen and dining halls. I would recommend a establishment in one of the surrounding areas as they have employees and staff members that truely care about the health, well being and happiness of residence.

Response: Clearwater Valley Hospital is an award winning small hospital less that two miles away from Brookside. The care from the aides is prompt and compassionate. The facility has a clean smell and a clean bright appearance.

Response: Wow! Talk about inaccurate! Whoever wrote this is obviously trying to make a bad impression. Brookside Landing is an excellent facility! Clean, caring staff, great food and fun activities! The administrator is top notch.
