BE WARE OF THIS PLACE!!! They destroyed my mother After only being there 21 days for TX after pneumonia. I have a reported a doctor there to the state and it is still under investigation that supposively cared for my mother. Just because she had Alzheimer's disease they acted like she was some guini pig changing all her medications around that she had been on for 6 yrs and had done very well on. She was only suppose to go there temp. to get stronger after the pneumonia and to come back home where she was well cared for by me. Doctors could not get over the care she rcvd from me 24/7. She was never!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the same again after being there 21 days & died 3 mos later. My concerns were totally dismissed or it took them forever to go along with me on anything. This poor women whom I miss everyday and still can't believe is gone suffered at Claremont and I would Never ever take a gold fish there to recover. I will spend my days letting people know how bad the administration and nursing staff was. They even lost her glasses and she had bad vision and needed them all the time. She spent the next 10 days there without glasses. It was enough she was suffering the effects they caused with her medications, having Alzheimer's disease and then to be practically blind in the process. The nurses were actually P.O. at me for being mad that they had lost the glasses. They removed them from her every night and were resp. for putting them back on every morning & obviously someone misplaced them by throwing them away accidently. I wasn't suppose to be upset and I reported them to the administration and I was told by the administration that the nursing staff was very hurt. Obviously the patients do not come first. The nursing staff was never on the same page about anything & always seemed puzzled or confused. Another family member of another patient approached me to ask how I felt about the nursing staff as well. She as well as I never wanted to leave our family member alone. I called twice a night after coming home in the evening to check on my mother before I was able to try and sleep at night. She once went completely without her breakfast because no one cared to feed it to her and others were already on to their lunches. Her tray was placed in the room and still covered when I got there and had never been touched by anyone. Please think twice before bringing any of your family member's there. They are NOT equipped to deal with dementia or Alzheimer's at the Claremont in Hanover. I know they have another facility in Buffalo Grove that I'm told takes Alzheimer's patient's. This place in Hanover knew my mother was being transferred from the hospital to there facility and had Alzheimer's and they should of refused her. I was under the impression that all the Claremont's accepted all problems & Hanover was closest to my home Instead they accepted her and destroyed her. It is all just a bad dream for me which I will never ever forget.

Do not put you parents in there. Lazy help! Cannot get your food on time or might not get it at all. Can wait N hour before someone helps them to the bathroom!!

My Mom did very well in rehab and her care was very good at Claremont. The rooms are pleasant, clean and inviting.

Lovely place but the nurses do nothing while the aids run ragged. Long wait time for help to the bathroom due to aides not showing up for work or coming late. Very poorly managed and plan to have a family member there early every morning to help your loved one. Weekends are awful as response is very slow And so many aides don't show up. Physical therapists are very good but unlike the Lexington they do not get therapy on the weekend.

I've been in this facility 3 times in the last two years. The staff is great, the food is wonderful and the physical therapy gyms are not only well staffed; they are well run by sympathetic and caring workers.
I would never hesitate to recommend the Claremont of H.E. to anyone.

    Response: hello

What matters in these places is the staff. If you are looking for competent care of your loved one don't go to claremont of Hanover park. Its a beautiful facility but its all looks and no brains.
