STAY AWAY FROM THIS JOINT

01/08/2011  -  An OurParents User Writes:

My grandma was just in this facility, and I am truely disgusted. Of course, when "they" give you the tour of the facility, it looks and sounds wonderful. My grandma lasted there 2 1/2 weeks.
This place lacks quality care. At one point, they "lost" my grandmother. How do you lose a patient in a wheeled chair? Someone put her to bed in the wrong room. Do they not know their residents? Was my grandma getting her appropriate medications, or were they confusing her with someone else?
We had to remove my grandmother from this facility. We arrived there only to find my grandmother soiled. She was complaining of chest pains and no one there seemed to be concerned. It took them forever to find a blood pressure cuff, that worked. My grandma ended up leaving in an ambulance.
Please think twice about placing your loved ones in the care of this place. In addition to the above issues, it is evident that the administrators at this place, just DON'T care. It is impossible to get answers, return phone calls or an ounce of compassion. At one point, all of my grandmothers clothes were missing.....12 pairs of pants, sweaters, shirts, etc. No one knew where they were and simply told us, "Yeah, we have been having some problems with that lately."

Response:
SOUNDS LIKE A FACILITY TO STAY FAR AWAY FROM.

Response: Arg. I think this kind of experience is all to common across a lot of these kinds of places. We had the same kinds of experience at the Bickford House in Peoria.
