I have had my family member here for the past twenty five years, and have always been very happy with the services here. It truly feels like home, and many of the staff have worked with my family member for many years. They are very kind and caring, and make sure that everyone that lives there is well taken care of and enjoys their lives. The home takes them on may community activities. Of all of the other places I have visited in the past, looking for placement closer to my home, I have never found any other agency that is as family oriented and home-like. We are very happy with Stouffer Terrace.

Response: Also, they do take Medicaid and they are still not a nursing home. Wish these random ad websites would check with the companies before they just put up whatever information they guess at.

At this time we are very disappointed in Stouffer Terrace! Our family member has been at Stouffer for a number of years and currently we have felt we are being lied to by Stouffer Terrace due to the fact this is NOT a nursing home!! It is a home for people with disabilities. The people living there go to work at the Village of Progress where they get paid for the work that they do while they learn a skill. They also do car washes during the summer, they get to go swimming, horse back ridding and they learn how to care for the horse while the town of Oregon supports them in whatever they do in the community. The people that live there do things during the weekend with the others living there and learn how to get along with others while doing so. This is how it has been since our family member went there and we were so very happy for them. But now as I have said we feel we have been lied to due to the fact this is NOT a NURSING HOME IT is a home for people with disabilities so why are you even advertising it as a nursing home? Also why are you advertising it as a nursing home without telling families of the residents? This is false advertising and extremely disappointing. I do hope that whom ever reads this checks this out before they even look at Stouffer Terrace for their love one. How their lies have hurt more then the people living there but also the town of Oregon, Illinois that has supported them for so many years.

Response: Have never seen them advertise as a nursing home. Just this third party site that has nothing to do with them. No one can be there without having a disability. And, they do go to VOP in Oregon

Very very disappointed in the sneaky way they have been doing things in the last 5 months. Example: last straw!!!!! Got a phone call yesterday that Stouffer Terrace and Hammer House will no longer be working with Village of Progress and sending all residents to Freeport to work!!! Gee on the bus for 5 min verse 45min . Most residents have only known VOP and will be very upset!!! Not in residents best interest at all
