If you truly care about your family member I would advise not taking them to Cedarhurst of Shiloh. The complete lack of care, communication, quality of life is truly astonishing when you look at the prices. Again and again the management drops the ball and lets terrible things happen to the residents that reside there. As long as you pay them, management will lie and tell you that your loved one is being taken care off with the upmost respect. I assure you that is not the case. After several abusive incidents, one involving chemicals to a female residents genitals, management covered it up and continued to let the person alleged work without any investigation or notification to state. Even after one employer quit from such cover ups happening. This is just a little of what happens behind closed doors at Cedarhurst. And the thing is, behind those doors are your family members, and the doors are always closed.

Cedarhurst is a beautiful place to live as long as you don't really need any help. They are looking for those residents who are "not a bother". If the resident is too much trouble they would rather not have them living there. They promise so much from the beginning and then fall short very quickly, seems like they are more interested in their outward appearance but lack substance.

We have been very satisfied with this facility. The staff in memory care really care about the residents and know them on a personal level, which means a lot to myself and my siblings. The food could be a lot better but from what I understand, the new cook is making great improvements in this area. The different supervisors are always kind and caring, and the very few occasions when we weren't 100% satisfied, the problem was addressed immediately. The only issue is the care staff in assisted living. We are rarely over on that end of the building but the few times we have been, they seemed very lazy. Luckily my parent is in memory care and we don't have to worry about lack of motivation from those aides.

This location at Cederhurst of SHiloh tells its employees to praise their business and their jobs if they want to keep them - Just check the high rate of emoployee turn over and how many employees have left do to poor leadership and overall management !!

I have worked in other assisted living communities and never have I found one to be as motivated to serve seniors as they are. The staff are a group of caring, dedicated people who really love what they do. Everyone on the team is supportive and driven to do a great job for the residents. Great place to work!

The staff here are very good, however the level of communication between staff and family needs a vast improvement.

This is a great location and has some wonderful people working there BUT the management team are BAD - they need better leadership and control on whats going on there daily - they don't even have someone to answer phones or greet people at the door on weekends !! Poor leadership at SHiloh, IL

This place is wonderful! Staff is incredibly helpful and have a lot of knowledge on working with those with memory issues. We have visited many other places and none compare to the quality of this one. This is truly a place where you would want your parents to live! Management is always there to listen and caregivers are more than willing to go out of their way to accomodate your needs. Amazing!

The facility being a memory care facility would indicate in my book, that residents would be reminded of daily tasks, however this is not the case. We are very disappointed in a lot of the the care taking. Would certainly not recommend the place to others. The majority if the caretakers are loving caring people, but maybe it is a reflection of the managerial staff. It is a shame, since the concept of memory care could be wonderful for a big part of the population.
