I have had 2 family members in this facility over the course of the past 18 months. Although I wasn't happy with the overall communication with the key management team, I did feel that the actual nurses and staff were good to my family members. In Feb, I brought my father to live full-time with me. He is now on hospice services and basically just exist. After 5 months of full-time care, my husband and I are going on a 5 day vacation. Since my sister and other family members are centrally located in the Elwood area, I thought it would be best to bring dad 2 hours back to Elwood for the respite stay, which is paid at 100% under a 1 time contract which my hospice company has been dealing with for a month now. Today, 5 days from when we are suppose to leave, we are informed that the management staff has decided that they cannot meet his needs and therefore will not take him. I'm beyond words. When you look at the overall description in this website that describes what level of care they can handle, my dad clearly falls within what they claim they can care for. It's been 5 months since he was there and his Dementia has really progressed to the point that all he does now is mostly sleep. If there was someone I could report this do, I would. It's unprofessional customer service from a company that is suppose to be in the business for helping people. I will find another facility, and this will be the last time I use Parkview or recommend their services.
