A family member stayed at Regency during rehab after a fall. They are understaffed--aides do all the work. The nursing staff mainly chatted at their desk. At times, the nurses were openly hostile like when we requested supper be served in the room because he like to watch the evening news. One nurse adamantly opposed this, but we family members insisted. Afterward, the nurse loudly talked to another staff member about "X. is no problem until his sisters come in." Very unprofessional. On more than one morning, when we visited, our family member was not dressed, his Depends had not been changed and the bed was not changed. It appeared that the aides were working as hard as they could-the place is simply understaffed. Then when the toilet was plugged, it took four days for maintenance to attend to it. The head nurse said that they could not call maintenance on week ends except for an emergency. I was ready to call the department of health. The re-hab room is understaffed and patients receive very little one on one care. They are left to follow through as best they can. Overall, I would not recommend Regency.
