This is in response to the last comment. I have worked at Towne House many years as a CNA, LPN and now RN. You have to remember that no matter what department you are in you have to deal with a number of patients who have some type of dementia. This is the reason why everyone who is employed there gets some type of dementia training via class room, video and computer upon orientation and throughout employment at the facility. Over the years I have also been a subject of verbal and physical abuse due to a residents mental state. Yes there are certain actions that have to be taken to insure no one is ever harmed wether it's an employee, resident or visitor but we as employees have to remember that these siruations are sometimes apart of the disease process and it's our job to take those challenges on. If your someone who is not able to deal with that then you should not work in a healthcare setting. I believe our staff does an excellent job at handling challenging situations so that a resident with dementia can continue to live a fulfilling life as long as possible without feeling like they are a burden to us or their families.

On the Retirement community itself it is a great place to live. I have worked there for two and a half years and the residents there could not be happier. How ever, management there sucks. The managers of the waitresses/waiters are completely rude. They have been there for sixteen plus years and i do not know how they have not been fired yet. I personally have had problems with one of the residents and if you knew him it would make more sense but as i was waiting on a table he comes up and hits me hard enough that i was thrown off balance. I talked to my boss and she said "Its no big deal he harasses everybody". This resident continues to call me vulgar words and keeps degrading me all because i was in his way and management does not choose to do anything about it. I went to my bosses boss, and she said she would take it to the director of towne house and nothing was done. And i'm still waiting on something to be done about it. If you are looking for good dining experiences this is not the place.
