This was once a lovely place for seniors to live. It was sold to a large corporation that deals solely in assisted living throughout the U.S. The environment quickly changed dramatically with new administrative management. The head nurse is sadistic and power hungry making the lives of residents and their family members extraordinarily unpleasant. The arrogance of this nurse is astounding!
"Bottom line? became the new mantra of Waterford at Ames and the residents were treated according to their means. The nutrition plummeted and the general care of the building and apartments quickly went downhill.
The change over of staff is high and employees are hired more for low salary than experience.
This place is a nightmare.

This is not a place you want to place a loved one.
Management is only interested in bottom line profit. Employees do not stay long. The food is of poor quality and poorly prepared. The individual apartments are not kept clean by the staff.
This is not a nice place.

I would not recomend the Waterford to anyone. The nurse is overbearing and bossy. They add unnessessary services to increase your bill. CNA's were friendly but not worth puting up whith the head nurse.

My parents lived here for about two years. I would not put my parents here if I had to do it over again. The head of nursing is very controlling and tries to control every aspect of resident's life.
She is bossy and rude. There are hidden costs not revealed and when asked to send a copy of the orginal contract parents had signed all they could send was unsigned contract with no names.
