Basically, they are designed to bridge the gap between independent living and nursing home facilities. When thinking about how to pay for care, assisted living facilities are generally less expensive than nursing homes, if assisted living is a viable option for your loved one.

This is a very happy, home. Residents are generally relaxed and positive. It is well staffed with trained caregivers, CNAs and a nurse manager. There is a nurse available 24 hours a day and 24-hour campus security staff as well. There are large and small group activities throughout the day and into the evening. Our staffing ratio is typically 1 to 8-not counting the nurse manager. Each resident has a lovely private room with a window seat and desk area plus a private 1/2 bath. We have a resident tended vegetable garden and two fenced patio/garden areas with walking paths. We are located in a quiet residental area in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The city bus stops at the corner of our lot. We care for mild to moderately demented residents who can still participate in most activities of daily living in some manner.
