Carrington Place of Muscatine is clean and the staff are very helpful. The Administrator was very willing to show me the facility and explain how the facility works.

The facility could be a success. High turnover rate in staffing. The administrator currently is not concerned of patient care but budgets and financial aspects which the residents and family members are afflicted with the concequences. Power hungry persons should not be in healthcare. 2 dept heads were harrassed and forced 2 resign in relation to being resident advocates.

Response: I think carrington place of muscatine is great! And the administrator has been nothing but great to the place, she appears to take control and deal with concerns as need to be.

the food is good but reporting of patients not eating appears not to be properly recorded

continuing rapid turnover of employees especially top staff positions

problems receiving patient mail including confidential & financial mail

inaccurate financial information

extremely poor communication with spouses & families of patients

pushes people out who are not medically/mentally/physically able to resume life outside a nursing facility

better than Muscatine Care Center which has been bought out and is renamed All American Care Center - in fact, many former CNA's & maintenance workers from there now work at Carrington

Description of Carrington Place of Muscatine in MUSCATINE, IA

Number of Beds : 100

Senator John Glenn once said, “Too many people, when they get old, think they have to live by the calendar.” A rejection of ‘calendar living’ perfectly describes the kind of world the senior living industry creates for millions of Americans over 55. Senior living is a lifestyle of personal choice. Those in senior living communities are never beholden to the calendar. They are free to be as active or inactive as they wish. If they want to relax and watch TV, they are free to do that, too. If they are healthy and independent and wish only to take advantage of fine housing, home-cooked meals, and cleaning services, they are free to do so. If they need assistance with some aspects of daily living, that type of community is available, too. Senior living also includes housing for those who require daily medical care as well as care for seniors who want to stay in their own homes. A well-organized system of care, senior living welcomes you for what YOU want to do.
