07/10/2014 An Interested Visitor Writes: The residents in the assisted living wing, the health care wing and the Alzheimer's unit are wonderful. The majority of the staff are very good. However many of them are very unhappy working there. Nicole and Kat in activities are outstanding. Ertha and Musa are the best. The upper management however are god awful. They are some of the meanest, nastiest, immoral, unethical, dishonest people you would ever want to meet. The turn over is non stop. The executive director position turns over every 6 months. I was terminated after volunteering for over 8 years over false accusations and lies. If you are looking for employment, a place to volunteer or a place for your loved one, go somewhere else. Consider yourself warned.

01/22/2013 An OurParents User Writes: I have been visiting a resident that is in the memory care unit weekly for about a year. Every time I have visited everyone has been extremely nice and they all seem to genuinely care about the residents. Having worked as a CNA in a nursing home I can relate to the daily demands of Alzheimers patients and feel that the employees go above and beyond to help these lovely residents. I feel so at home when I visit there and they have made me all feel very welcome. I can say that I would highly recommend Brighton Gardens!!! Keep up the great work as you all are a godsend:) Warmly, Marti

01/02/2013 An Interested Visitor Writes: I recently toured Brighton Gardens as a potential home for my father. As a result of the way the marketing manager, Carrie, treated the residents, I would never want my father to live there. Upon my arrival, she whispered to me that one of the elderly ladies who was about to join us on the elevator "usually is very crabby." (In fact, the woman was pleasant and smiled at me.) Upstairs, a man named John, who suffers from dementia, was overwrought with worry about the absence of his lady love. Carrie actually laughed and winked at me, telling me that his friend is away visiting her daughter, while she dismissed John (twice) with a comment that she "would look into it." Though he was quite visibly upset and seeking comfort, she made no effort to spend time with him, offer him any reassurance or ease his anguish. She also made a comment to me about the fact that until she could find reinforcements on the second floor, "the inmates are running the asylum." Although Carrie was very polite and attentive to me, I would never want someone I love to be treated with such callous disregard and I shudder to think what the environment really must be at this place.

09/12/2012 An Family Member of Current/Past Resident Writes: The staff seem friendly and caring. I am impressed with the 5 Star rating and the quality of care that is provided from Assisted Living to the Alzheimer's and Dementia neighborhood to Healthcare. The nurses and Executive Director and care managers seem helpful and involved. It's a very busy place with a homelike environment.

12/12/2011 An Family Member of Current/Past Resident Writes: This is a very warm and friendly community with excellent standards. The staff seem to genuinely care about the residents and the leadership team is knowledgeable and helpful.

07/26/2011 An Family Member of Current/Past Resident Writes: Leadership at this nursing home is poor from the executive director! She's not a people person and tries to intimidate her staff! The activities director is a racist snake who causes nothing but trouble... the receptionist is dreadful also... just a bunch of trouble makers who pride themselves on being evil!
