Response: I disagree completely. My father rehabed there 5 years ago with a knee replacement and my mother is currently there recovering from a complete shoulder replacement. She is 84 and has a very clear mind. Her own assessment of the facility contradicts every word you've written. Her care has been exceptional. From nursing staff to occupational and physical therapy. I see her every day and the staff could not be more friendly. I see the same faces there I saw 5 years ago so turn around is low. I have never seen staff treat any patient with disrespect or indignity.

Response: Totally agree. We just had a similar situation with my mother and this place/staff (12/2014). They were terrible. We moved my mother after a week to another facility. It's amazing how quickly she is progressing after we removed her from the toxic environment at Jefferson Place. Those folks should be ashamed of themselves and they way they treat patients and family members or better yet the way they neglect and ignore their patients.

Do NOT send your loved ones to this place unless you want them sitting in a pile of their own urine or feces because the nurses can't be bothered to answer patient calls. While the PT and OT staff are great, the people who work there assisting the patients with their meals and going to the bathroom seem like they would rather eat glass than help anyone. This is clearly just a job to them. You can see it on their faces. They are miserable and put out to be there. Why they went into this profession is beyond me. My family member was in there for awhile and it was a horrible experience. I implore you to go elsewhere if you want your loved ones to recooperate from surgery or if they need extra care because of a deteriorating illness. I just can't believe that people treat others this way and then expect to get paid for their "effort." And this is healthcare in this country? What a joke!

I have had friends who have completed rehabilitation at this facility who have nothing but praise for the facility and its staff. However, they were much younger and their overall health was much better than my parent's.

Largely on the basis of my friends reccomndations and the reputation of this facility, we chose this faciilty for my parent's rehabilitation. I'm truly appalled at the lack of empathy and defensiveness on the part of most of the staff members. The people my friends commended for their care of him, have condecended to and intimidated my mother.

While there have been several wonderful caregivers, they are the exception, and my evaluation of the rehab staff and this facility over all is far from favorable. My overall impression of this facility is that this institution is more concerned with appearances and the "reputation" of its facility than with providing patient-centered care. If I could give a negative score, I would. There is absolutley no excuse for leaving an elderly patient sitting in soiled diapers for multiple hours--not just once but several times.

Response: I completely agree with you! The nurses there don't seem to know anything about the profession. My parent had the same problem as yours. We were also recommended to go to this place, but I regret it every day. I watched after my parent pushed the call button. We could hear it buzzing down the hall. There were nurses around who just passed by the room. No one bothered to do anything. It was disgusting. I hope these nurses end up in a place like this someday so that they can see what it feels like to be helpless with no one to help you. Disgusting human beings.
