HORRIBLE!!! There are no words to express the total lack of care in this awful place. I agree with one of the reviews; I wouldn't place a dog in this place - not even a DEAD dog! Oh, and try sleeping with an Alzheimer's patient in the same room!

This place is horrible! They do not care for their patients. My Uncle is in their SNF unit, and he went EIGHT days without a bath, he was left in his SOILED diaper for many hours, the head of his bed and foot would not raise, and we requested it to be fixed for days and NOTHING happened. He chokes a lot, and he being raised up is highly important. We have complained numerous of times and nothing has been addressed. Today, he has gone four days with NO BATH, and it is 1 in the afternoon and he is STILL in his PJ's. Please, if you're reading this DO NOT PLACE A LOVED ONE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was floored at the responce of the manger, " Matt" for allowing his nursing aid exstort and apology from a mother of a stroke victim. They basically said if you have anything to say, report it. I then asked for the owner, but management failed to answer that one. I didn't want to post a bad review on someone's business, but if your the owner. Ask your manager Matt for my email. I think you need to see the correspondence from your management.

How can anyone even except the crap there ? I was there 4-5 days a week with my Sister n Law whom lost her life this last weekend from the horrible care . They put on a pretty face behind the scenes is not nice .. She got scabies , got dehydrated and hospitalized accused of being mental after asking all night for a ambulance and was classified as mentality ill .Took her next morning when I showed up and hospital dignoised her as very dehydrated and severe UTI infection .Begged for two weeks for medicine to treat a fungus infection she developed from the community shower ..I brought the medicine to treat her . Verbally threaten by a CNA on many occasions . The Food served was horrible .We purchased her food from outside to sustain her . Upon on her passing from UTI going into toxic shock walked in to pack her things and a House keeper was stealing her things ..i will say there are some super precious nurses and not all are horrible But be aware if you report one they all are in a click ..they lie like hell on your Love one and say it's mental Like about it ? Well lets say they have their staff all in sink to lie like hell for the low lives that abuse . This place is nothing but a out word show !! Might as well start writting your loves ones Obituary when you put them there are get a cot and plan to stay to protect them .. When you show up butter melts they are all around your love one . Make darn sure your love one has a phone and do NOT discount anything they tell you is off the wall .This place needs overhauled from top to bottom and this family is going to make certain things get changes my sisters wishes ..

Chateau is very much not the place for my mother n I moved her to another facility. I walked in where they decided to but diapers on her cause they didn't have time to bring her to the restroom. I have seen first hand the rudeness n lack of staff especially at night. My advice to everyone jus pop up surprisingly on ur parents every shift and you will see for yourself.

I was hesitant to go visit Chateau this weekend because of all the negative reviews on this page. I decided to go as my mother needs Skilled Nursing Care and I know that people often use websites like this to vent guilt about placing a loved one in the nursing home. After touring several facilities in the surrounding area, Chateau Living Center of Kenner is by far the best option available. The weekend staff was more that willing to help me with questions I had. The facility had a very good smell and the floors were shining. The Skilled Unit, as they called it, was top notch. The area was set apart from the rest of the facility and really had a rehab hospital atmosphere instead of a dull nursing home feel. I will be going back tomorrow to gather additional information to bring my mother in as soon as the hospital discharges her. I will post a follow-up comment once my mother has been admitted there to comment on the care.

Response: I hope that the continued care continues for your loved one. I don't want to send out a word of discouragement but my experience for my family changed over a few months. My mother's care and overall well-being fell fast from being completely independent to bedridden. My advice is to always act out if you know the quality of care needs to improve..Take Action!!! Never give up hope. Best of Luck to you.

Response: I wish you the best of luck to your mother and her speedy recovery. My parent was also in the Skilled Nursing Unit prior to becoming a permenent resident. Our family did not have any problem with the Skilled Nursing side of this facility. I agree with you that it was clean, the staff in that part are nice and helpful. I must reiterate. It's a different ball game when patients are in the regular nursing home side. Please visit your mother often.

While there are few good nursing assistants most are rude and speak to some residents in not so nice way.
Our parent has several instances where she was spoken to poorly. Supervisors are not clearly visible and on more than one occasion, especially weekends, theres no one in charge. There's usually 2 cna's on staff to handle at least 20-22 patients. This results in patients having to wait a long time for using the restroom and getting ready for bed. Chateau definitely doesn't hire quality people. It seems like there's always NEW HIRES on. Here today gone tomorow atmosphere.

Response: This is down right unethical and something needs to be done. Someone needs to make the difference and chose the right Staff and credentials for serving those in need.

Poor hygiene of the bedriden residents, neglect and some ause being noted for those that cannot speak for themselves.

My mother is a current resident of Chateau. She started out in the SNF then due to not being able to walk well had to become a resident. Within 3 weeks of being in this facility 3 woman plus my mother got a urinary tract infection. Tell me this is a coincidence since they all bathed in the same tub. I have to wonder if it was being sanitized properly. Now this past week she's developed "canker sores" in her private area. My mother has NEVER had problems like this in the past and now all of a sudden they develop...?? Form your own opinion.

My grandmother recently passed at chateau living center. She stayed at chateau living center for less than a month. Prior to her arrival she could move herself around in a wheelchair, could feed herself, talk and go to the bathroom on her own. The first week she was there she got staph infection and sent to the hospital. After getting back from the hospital she then got double pneumonia as the caregivers were not assisting her out of the bed. They began feeding her in the bed causing her to aspirate and get pneumonia in both lungs. She was then sent to the hospital again. Once again they began not assisting her out of the bed and felt it would be better if she were catherterized. So in less than the course of the month a healthy mobile woman became bed ridden, catheterized, got bed sores, staph infection, double pnemonia, and lost the ability to speak. To this day we are still wondering what happened. We thought having her go to a nursing home would provide her a better quality of care than we could. If we knew they were going to kill her, we would have kept her at home.

Response: I am so sorry for the lost of your loved one. I hope this has been an act of response to the person in charge for the residents of Chateau. I feel that if your one whom chooses to care for those in need that you do so passionately.
