My experience with the Woodlands is wonderful! My mom is currently living in this community and I couldn't be happier with their services. My mother was living in another facility in the same area before living at the Woodlands. Where she was prior they had her so heavily medicated that mom would do nothing but sleep all the time, she couldn't even talk any more. They said it was to help with her "behaviors", which consisted of her wandering around. She was never combative or mean, that was not like her. When moving to Woodlands they evaluated her medications and decreased, as well as, discontinued a lot of her medications they felt were unnecessary. Not only was my mom no longer sleeping constantly but she started talking again! I couldn't believe it. Every time I visit with mom she looks so beautiful. The staff spend the time to put her make up and jewelry on, this makes me extremely happy because mom always took pride in her looks. I could not be happier with the services my mom receives. The staff are always so pleasant and compassionate.

I'm saddened by the experience the woman below has had in the past. This community is amazing, I wouldn't have my mom anywhere else.

My Mother was a resident here for about 10 years. In the past 6 months, she lost a great deal of weight. All of her children live out of state and were not contacted, nor was her doctor contacted. Her semi annual checkup at her doctor is what finally raised the alarm. She was down to 86lbs. Staff at the Woodlands do not keep track of whether or not their residents eat or not. Mother has dementia, and often wore the same clothes for many days. She had a simple surgery to remove a lesion on her back, and staff was supposed to check on her hourly. Five days later, she could not get out of bed, and the staff called my brother, who told them to call an ambulance. She was, by then, down to 75lbs. She didn't ask them for any help, and they just let her sit there and waste away. I wouldn't take a dog to this facility. It used to be a great place, but there has been a lot of staff changes in the past few years. They could have cared less if Mom lived or died. She is now in another facility, but she probably won't survive this.

Response: As I predicted, my Mother did not survive this. She passed away a month ago.
